Brizee stood backstage at the high school where she
and her friends went to school but currently were being tutored as they had
been on tour. Brizee and her three friends, Amy, Amanda, and Alicia had formed
a girl group called Girl Power. They released a cd and had become the most
popular girl group in the world, selling one million cds in the first week and
their first single going to number one. They recently did a video and a cover
of the song, Once Upon A Dream, for the Disney movie, Sleeping Beauty. The
school was holding a talent show and the principal had requested they perform
as a warm up for the acts. There was a contest and they were the judges. Nick,
Brian, Howie, and AJ came backstage. Brizee and Nick were dating, as were
Alicia and Brian, AJ and Amanda, and Amy and Howie. Nick hugged Brizee from
behind and rested his chin on her shoulder.
“It’s
good having you home,” Nick said.
“It’s
good to be here,” Brizee said.
Meanwhile….in the back of the audience were the acts
were waiting their turn was Allison Tanner. She never got along with Brizee and
her friends and was jealous that Brizee, Amanda, Amy, and Alicia were popular
and had a record deal. She stood with her friend, Betty.
“This is
my night,” Allison said.
“Do you
have any idea who the judges are,” Betty said.
Allison rolled her eyes.
“Brizee
and her loser friends, but they can’t be biased, they have to be fair,” Allison
said.
“I don’t
even see them, must be hiding backstage,” Betty said.
“I hope
they stay back there,” Allison said.
The principal came out onstage.
“I have a
special treat for all of you, Girl Power is here as your judges but first, they
will perform the song, Once Upon A Dream from the movie, Sleeping Beauty, but
before that, we are allowed to show you all their video for the song, an
exclusive from the girls,” he said. They watched the video.
“And now
the live performance!” he said. Brizee, Amy, Amanda, and Alicia walked out and
performed the song. After they were done, everyone cheered except Betty and
Allison. Brizee, Amy, Amanda, and Alicia took their seats in front of the stage
to watch the show and judge the acts. It was Allison’s turn. She went up and
performed her favorite song. After she was done, she looked at Brizee, Amy,
Amanda, and Alicia and gave them the look to choose her or else. They rolled
their eyes and Allison went backstage. After the acts went on, the girls talked
about everyone and went up onstage.
“3rd
runner up, Heather Stevens,” Amy said. Heather came up and got her certificate.
“2nd
runner up, Ginger Wallace,” Amanda said. Ginger came up and got her
certificate.
“1st
runner up and winner of a one hundred thousand check and a record deal with
Columbia Records, Allison Tanner,” Alicia said. Allison looked at Betty.
Allison came onstage and snatched it from her and glared at her and went
backstage.
“And the
grand prize winner and five hundred thousand check and a record deal with Jive
Records, Kelly Taylor!” Brizee said. Kelly ran onstage and hugged them and got
the check. She went to her parents and pictures were taken and they left. Amy,
Amanda, Brizee, and Alicia went backstage and saw Allison standing there
glaring at them.
“Allison,
you got a record deal anyways, it’s a good deal, you can have control over the
songs and everything, you don’t have to be mad about that,” Amanda said.
“I wanted
to win!” Allison said angrily.
“Allison,
you got a record deal, there is your chance to be famous, they won’t care if
you won the talent show, they will care about your songs and voice, besides you
don’t like us anyways, if you were with Jive, you would be around us and we
know you wouldn’t want that,” Amy said. Allison looked at the check and letter
from the label.
“I guess
you are right, adios, losers,” Allison said as she left.
