Nick sat there in his hotel room talking to his wife on the phone. She was in New York for her fashion show and she had a meeting to get to.

        “I’ll let you go, baby, I love you,” Nick said.

        “I love you, too, honey, I’ll call later after I get back to my hotel tonight, give those girls a thrill but remember, you are my guy,” Brizee said.

        “Don’t worry, baby, you are the only one for me, I couldn’t imagine my life without you,” Nick said

        “Good, same goes for me, babe, I gotta go, love you, bye!” Brizee said. He hung up and sat back and smiled. He pulled out a picture of them on their wedding day. Brian, AJ, and Howie came in.

        “Hey Frack,” Brian said sitting down beside him.

        “Hey Frick,” Nick said. Brian saw the picture and smiled.

        “I know you miss her, Nick,” Brian said.

        “Just talking on the phone is not enough, I just want to hold her, I miss her a lot but she’s going after her dream and I can’t keep her from doing that, I love her too much to keep her from doing what she loves,” Nick said.

        “Have you talked to her,” AJ said.

        “Yeah, she’s headed for a meeting before the fashion show, she said she’ll call tonight when she gets to her hotel room,” Nick said. They turned on the TV and saw the events going on. Two planes had crashed into the World Trade Center in New York. Nick stared at the TV.

        “Nick,” AJ said.

        “Oh god, Brizee, her meeting was at the World Trade Center!” Nick said. He tried calling Brizee but got no answer. He threw the phone down and leaned forward and held his head in his hands. AJ sat down beside him and he and Brian did their best to comfort him as they waited on word on Brizee. Brian talked to Leighanne and told her what was going on. Howie talked to Leigh who was in New York with Brizee.

        “Leigh is at their suite and she’ll let us know if Briz comes back,” Howie said.

        “Oh god,” Nick said as he started to cry.

        “Nick, stay calm, she might be okay,” AJ said.

        “But she could be dead!” Nick said.

        “You don’t know that, she might have made it out and taken to safety and lost her cell phone in the craziness, you know she’ll call when she can,” AJ said.

        “She is a fighter, Nick, remember three years ago when she was in that car accident and she was on life support and you begged her to stay with you, she fought her way back to you then,” Brian said.

        “If I don’t hear from her in three days, then I know she’s gone,” Nick said.

That night, Nick arrived back at his hotel room and checked his phone and sat down. His phone rang. He grabbed it.

        “Briz?” Nick asked.

        “Yeah, it’s me, Nicky,” Brizee said.

        “Thank god, I was so scared, I know you had a meeting at the World Trade Center,” Nick said.

        “I’m fine, baby, I was just in the lobby when the planes hit and I helped people get out and my cell died and I made it out before the towers collapsed and ran across the bay to Brooklyn and watched it all unfold, I knew you would be scared and thought I was gone, but I’m not, honey, I’m going to rent a car and head up to be with you,” Brizee said.

        “Don’t forget Leigh,” Nick said.

        “She’s with me now, and I talked to Leighanne, she’s heading up too, at one point or another, we will all be together, soon, I need to be in your arms, Nicky, it was horrifying, what kept me going was you, I love you, Nicky, so much,” Brizee said. Nick wiped his eyes.

        “I love you, too, baby, more than anything in the world,” Nick said. Brian, AJ, and Howie came in and saw him crying.

        “I’ll get there as soon as I can, baby,” Brizee said.

        “See you soon,” Nick said. He hung up.

        “Nick,” Brian said.

        “She’s okay, Briz is okay, she was in the lobby when the planes hit and her cell phone died and she was helping people get out and she made it out before the towers collapsed, she watched it all from Brooklyn,” Nick said.

        “Thank god,” Brian said.

        “She and Leigh are renting a car and heading up and she said Leighanne is heading up, too,” Nick said.

        “I think we need our girls, too, it was one tragic day,” Brian said. AJ and Howie nodded.

        “I can’t believe it, all those people gone, Danny, I thought I lost Briz, I don’t think I can take anymore,” Nick said.

        “Us either,” AJ said.

        “I can’t believe Danny’s gone, he was a great guy, a great worker, every night he held my life in his hands,” Nick said.

        “And Kellie, what she is going through, due to give birth and he won’t get to know his new child, we are sending flowers and gifts to her to let her know that she is part of the Backstreet family,” Brian said.  They did a group prayer and they all went to bed. Two days later, they were in Montreal and at the venue. Nick was pacing.

        “Nick,” Howie said. He looked and saw Brizee standing there with Leigh and Leighanne behind her. He ran to her and took her into his arms and held her tight and buried his face in her neck and took in her scent. She held onto him as she rested her head on his shoulder.

        “Oh god, baby, I’m never letting you go again,” Nick said.

        “Good, because I’m not going anywhere, I rescheduled my fashion show until after the tour is over so you can be with me,” Brizee said.

        “Come on,” Nick said pulling her down to his dressing room and going in and closed the door and locked it and pressed her against the wall and kissed her deeply as their clothes went everywhere and they collapsed to the floor and he made love to her. He collapsed on top of her and buried his face in her neck.

        “Oh god, baby, I love you so much,” Nick said.

        “I love you, too,” Brizee said. He pulled back and looked at her and kissed her softly.

        “I want to start a family, that is if you are ready,” Nick said. She looked at him and smiled and kissed him softly.

        “I’m ready when you are,” Brizee said.
