Nick laid on the couch in the living room of his house, staring at the ceiling. Tears ran down his cheeks as he thought of what had happened.  His fiancée left town while he was waiting for her to show up at his birthday party. He didn’t know why she left him. Her best friend, Hayley, who is Howie’s wife, didn’t know where she went and was worried about her. He got up and went out back and sat on his deck in a lounge chair and stared at the ocean. He heard the front door open and close and heard voices.

        “Nicky,” Hayley said as she and Howie came out with Brian and Leighanne behind them.

        “Hi,” Nick said.

        “We have a private investigator looking for Briz,” Hayley said.

        “Why did she leave me, why would she do this, I loved her so much, she was everything to me and she left me, I didn’t do anything wrong, all I did was love her,” Nick said as fresh tears fell down his cheeks. Leighanne and Hayley sat down and hugged him. Brian and Howie looked at each other. They knew Nick would never be the same. They were leaving in the morning to go on tour.

        “Nick, if you want to, you can hang on my bus with me and Leighanne,” Brian said.

        “Thanks, I’ll be fine on my bus,” Nick said.

        “Are you sure?” Leighanne asked.

        “I’ll be okay, I have to be,” Nick said. Leighanne kissed his cheek and Hayley kissed his forehead.

        “If you need anything, just call us, okay,” Leighanne said. Nick nodded.

        “Thanks, sis and sis,” Nick said. They hugged him and they left. Nick locked up the house and went up to his room and took a shower and went to bed. The next morning, he got his bags and went to meet the buses. He got on his bus and put his bags down. Billy got on.

        “Hey boss,” Billy said.

        “Hey Billy,” Nick said.

        “You doing okay?” Billy asked.

        “Yeah, I have to,” Nick said. Billy sat down. The buses headed out on the road.

Two months went by. Nick was getting more depressed each day that passed. The guys were worried about him. He never would hang out. He would do sound checks and then hide out in his dressing room. He would do the show and then shower and go back to the bus or hotel suite. He hardly ate and they noticed a change in his weight.  The guys and girls gathered in Kevin’s room.

        “Guys, I’m worried about Nick, he is getting worse each day, he insists he’s fine but we can tell he isn’t, he’s losing weight and he looks pale, we have to step up our efforts and find Brizee and bring her back to him before he gets worse,” Brian said.

        “Let’s go talk to him,” Kevin said.

        “Kev, it won’t be a good idea to gang up on him,” Hayley said.

        “We have to do something, he’s our little bro,” Kevin said. He got up and went out the door. He knocked on Nick’s door. He didn’t answer. He looked at Billy who nodded and opened the door. Kevin went in and saw Nick sitting by the window.

        “What is it, Kev,” Nick said.

        “Nick, we all are worried about you,” Kevin said. Brian, Leighanne, Howie, Hayley, AJ, Ally, and Kristin came in behind him and closed the door.

        “I’m fine,” Nick said.

        “Frack, you aren’t fine, you are not the same Nick we all know and love, you won’t hang out with us, I miss my Frack,” Brian said.

        “I’m right here, Brian,” Nick said.

        “No, you aren’t, Nick, you don’t hang with me, you won’t play video games, or play a game of basketball, all you do is hide out in your dressing room or bus or hotel suite, and you are not eating, we have noticed the weight loss,” Brian said.

        “I thought everyone would be happy that I’m losing weight since everyone makes fun of my weight,” Nick said.

        “We don’t, Kaos, we all love you the way you are, you know we always stood up for you when a reporter would make a comment about your weight,” AJ said.

        “I know,” Nick said.

        “We are here for you, Nicky, don’t shut us out, we know you miss Briz, she left all of us,” Hayley said. Kevin went to his little bro. Nick looked up at him.

        “You know you have us, Nicky, you don’t have to say you’re okay when you aren’t, you don’t have to be strong with us, we know you are hurting, you have us, you know you can talk to all of us about anything,” Kevin said. Nick broke down crying and Kevin hugged him. Everyone gathered around them and joined the hug.

        “I’m sorry, guys,” Nick said.

        “Its okay, Nicky, just know we are here for you,” Leighanne said. Nick nodded.

Three months later, Nick was back to normal and hanging with Brian and AJ most of the time.  They were in Denver for a show.  Hayley and Leighanne went shopping. They were at the mall and walked in a store and there was Brizee behind the counter. They looked at each other and went up to her. Brizee saw them and froze.

        “Brizee!” Hayley said.

        “Hi,” Brizee said.

        “You ran away from Florida and came here, why did you leave Nick,” Leighanne said.

        “You wouldn’t understand,” Brizee said.

        “I saw the article, Brizee, you ran because of Adam, and that he died of AIDs, you didn’t have anything to worry about, the guys had a physical before they left for the tour, all of them, including Nick, are healthy,” Hayley said. Brizee looked at the counter.

        “Hayley,” Brizee said.

        “No, Brizee, you leaving really destroyed Nick, the first two months, he was depressed, hardly eating, not hanging out, he would either be in his dressing room, on his bus of his hotel room, he wouldn’t do anything with the guys offstage,” Hayley said.

        “The guys and Hayley, Ally, Kris, and I talked with him and made him see that he still had all of us, Briz, you have to go back to him, he loves you so much, you are everything to him,” Leighanne said.

        “You don’t have to run anymore, if you have to run, run back to Nick, he needs you in his life,” Hayley said.

        “I don’t know if I can,” Brizee said.

        “Why not,” Hayley said. Brizee stood up and turned sideways and they saw her stomach. Brizee was pregnant.

        “I’m having his baby, it happened the night before I left, we weren’t exactly careful,” Brizee said.

        “He will want you and the baby, Briz,” Hayley said.

        “I don’t know if I can,” Brizee said.

        “Briz, he loves you, he wouldn’t turn his back on you, you are his everything and he will be happy to have you back and the baby will be a bonus,” Hayley said. Brizee looked at them and nodded. She told her boss that she quit and left with them and went to the venue. Hayley and Leighanne walked in with Brizee. Brian, Howie, AJ, Ally, Kevin, and Kristin hugged her.

        “Where’s Nick?” Hayley asked.

        “His dressing room, changing, we had a water gun fight, he lost,” Brian said.

        “Only because the guys ganged up on him and he wasn’t even playing,” Ally said. Brizee shook her head and Brian told her which one it was. She walked down the hall and knocked on the door.

        “It’s open!” Nick said. She slowly opened the door and saw him putting on a shirt. He turned and saw her.

        “Hi,” Brizee said. He looked at her up and down.

        “Briz?” Nick asked.

        “Yeah,” Brizee said. He closed the door and took her in his arms. She closed her eyes and held onto him.

        “We’re having a baby?” Nick asked. Brizee nodded.

        “I’m so sorry for leaving you,” Brizee said.

        “I found the article, baby, you didn’t have to run, we could have be there for each other, I could have handled it,” Nick said.

        “I know that now, I promise never to leave you again,” Brizee said. Nick cupped her face in his hands and kissed her deeply.

        “Good because there is no way I’m ever letting you go,” Nick said. He held her close to him without hurting her. He pulled back and looked at her.

        “I still want to marry you,” Nick said.

        “And my answer is still yes,” Brizee said. He took off his ring and put it on her finger. They went and told the guys and girls.

Two months later, there was things going on within the group. Brian, AJ, Howie, and Kevin would tease Nick at every turn. Nick would try to get them back but it keeps blowing up in his face. Brizee was resting in his dressing room when Nick came in slamming the door.

        “I’ve had it!” Nick said angrily.

        “Nicky,” Brizee said.

        “I’m done with those guys, I can’t take it anymore!” Nick said. Brizee got up and went to him.

        “What happened,” Brizee said.

        “The usual, gang up on Nick, let’s tease the crap out of him,” Nick said.

        “I can’t believe them,” Brizee said.

        “I need to get out of here, before I lose my mind,” Nick said grabbing his hat and glasses.

        “Nicky,” Brizee said. He kissed her deeply.

        “I’ll be fine once I’m away from them for awhile,” Nick said. He went out the door and ran out of the arena. Brizee came out of the room and went down the hall and saw the guys sitting around the table, talking and laughing.

        “I’m hope you all are proud of yourselves,” Brizee said loudly. They looked at her.

        “Briz,” Howie said.

        “Nonstop all the time, teasing Nick all the time, same thing for two months straight, you guys must really hate him for some reason,” Brizee said angrily.

        “We don’t hate him, we just like teasing him,” AJ said.

        “Guys, enough is enough, he is tired of it, he’s sick of the teasing and he can’t take it anymore, he is done, guys, he is done with all of you, he is supposed to be your little brother, and you do nothing but tease him, there is only so much one person could take, how would each of you feel if you were in his shoes, would you all hate being teased all the time,” Brizee said. The guys looked at each other and knew she was right.

        “You’re right, Briz, we should stop and go apologize,” Howie said.

        “He’s not here, he had to get out of here, he couldn’t handle being here, you guys will be lucky if he comes back for the show, you really messed up this time, you probably drove him out of the group,” Brizee said. She went back to the dressing room and slammed the door. She sat down and rubbed her stomach.

        “I stood up for your daddy, I know he would be proud,” Brizee said. There was a knock. Kristin, Leighanne, Hayley, and Ally came in.

        “We heard what happened, we really yelled at the guys, we kept telling them to stop with the teasing but they wouldn’t,” Kristin said.

        “I don’t think Nick will come back, he can’t take anymore teasing,” Brizee said.

        “Kevin is trying to call him,” Kristin said.

        “His cell is in my purse on vibrate,” Brizee said. She pulled it out and saw Kevin calling it. She answered it.

        “Sorry, Kevin, I have his phone,” Brizee said. She hung up. She looked around.

        “Briz,” Billy said.

        “Go find him, Billy, please,” Brizee said. Billy nodded and left. Leighanne hugged her. That night, the guys were ready for the show and there was no sign of Nick and Billy had come back telling her that he couldn’t find Nick. He checked the airport and no one boarded a flight matching Nick’s picture or Allyas. Kevin was pacing. Brian and AJ were talking. Howie was watching the door.

        “Guys, let’s go on, we can’t wait any longer,” Kevin said. Brian, AJ, and Howie looked at him.

        “Kev, we can’t, they came to see all five of us,” AJ said. Kevin sighed.

        “We can say that Nick lost his voice and needs to rest it for a little while,” Kevin said.

        “That’s nice, Kevin, thought you would find another reason to make fun of me,” Nick said from the doorway.

        “Nick, where have you been,” Brian said.

        “Why does it matter to all of you, I’m just the big joke of the group, the one who gets teased all the time, who cares where I go, you guys would just find another reason to make fun of me,” Nick said.

        “Nick, we are sorry for all of that, we won’t do it anymore,” Brian said.

        “Oh sure, after two months of nonstop teasing, you all now decide to stop, it’s too late for that!” Nick said. He went to his dressing room and slammed the door. The girls looked at the guys.

        “We shouldn’t have teased him, guys, we were idiots,” Brian said.

        “I agree,” Howie said.

        “Guys, Nick may be easy to tease but you guys truly went overboard, he is supposed to be your bandmate and little brother and you guys treated him like crap,” Kristin said. Nick came back out with his stuff. He looked at Brizee and the girls.

        “I’m going home, I can’t stay here with my so called brothers,” Nick said.

        “Nick, you can’t quit, we are truly sorry for everything and we want to make it up to you and we promise no more teasing,” Howie said.

        “Don’t make promises you can’t keep, Howard, I thought you of all people would not join in with the teasing, I thought you and Brian would be the two guys I could count on to be there for me, I guess I was wrong,” Nick said. He went out the door. Billy came with Brizee and her stuff.

        “Briz,” Brian said.

        “Don’t, Brian, you guys made things really clear, you all don’t want Nick around, I hope you guys are happy, you can find someone else to tease and gang up on,” Brizee said. She went out the door.

        “Good going, boys,” Billy said as he followed her out the door.

        “What have we done,” Kevin said sitting down.

        “We just drove our little bro away and he wants nothing to do with us,” Brian said.

        “Guys, we have to do something,” AJ said.

        “Howie, tell Jeff to postpone the show,” Kevin said. Howie called Jeff. Hayley and Leighanne went onstage to address the crowd.

        “Can we have your attention, please, we are sorry to have to tell you this, I’m sorry but the show is being postponed tonight, the guys are not feeling good, they were ready to go on and all the sudden, they got sick and they are sorry they can’t come out to perform for all of you but it’s important for them to rest and get better so they can continue with the tour, the tour is being postponed until they are 100% better and they are going to see what they have and how long they have to rest before continuing with the tour, we are sorry and the guys are sorry, goodnight, and also, if you hold onto your ticket stubs, just show them to the ticket counter when the tour resumes and you will be able to get in, also if you have tickets for another show, the tickets will be good for the new dates, goodnight,” Hayley said. She and Leighanne went backstage.

        “Good job, girls, that’s what Jeff would have said, if he was here,” Howie said hugging Hayley. The guys changed and got their stuff and snuck out to their buses and headed home. The next day, they went to Nick and Brizee’s house and rang the doorbell. Brizee opened the door and saw them.

        “What are you guys doing here, girls, you can come in, but you guys can’t,” Brizee said. Leighanne, Kristin, Hayley, and Ally went in.

        “We postponed the tour until further notice,” Kevin said. Brizee shook her head.

        “What excuse did you guys use, something about Nick, I expect,” Brizee said.

        “No, we said that we came down with something and we won’t continue until we are 100% better,” AJ said.

        “That’s nice, but you guys might as well go on with the tour with just you four, Nick isn’t moving,” Brizee said.

        “Brizee, please,” Brian said.

        “No, Brian, you were supposed to be Nick’s best friend, his Frick, you were supposed to stick up for him, instead, you joined in on the teasing, how could you do that to him,” Brizee said.

        “I was wrong to do that, okay, I can’t tell you how sorry I am, I want to go back and change things but I can’t!” Brian said. He went past her. She glared at Howie, AJ, and Kevin.

        “If you think of going in, don’t even think about it,” Brizee said glaring at them with her arms crossed.

        “Why did Brian get in,” AJ said.

        “Maybe if you talk to him one at a time, things may change, going all at once, ganging up on him, which is like the teasing he had to endure for the last two months,” Brizee said.

        “Briz,” Kevin said.

        “No, Kevin, you guys aren’t getting in,” Brizee said. Billy came and stood behind her.

        “You have to get past me and I am not moving unless Brizee asks me to,” Billy said. The guys knew better than to mess with Billy. With Billy standing guard, she went to see the progress of Brian and Nick. She stood at the doorway and saw them talking. She saw them hug and smiled.

        “I promise you and I swear on my mother’s life that I will never ever tease you again,” Brian said.

        “Now I know you mean it, you always swear on your mother’s life when you keep a promise,” Nick said. They did their handshake.

        “Nick, you are my brother, my Frack, my best friend, and you always will be, if anyone teases you again, they will have to deal with me,” Brian said. Nick hugged him.

        “The other three are outside, Billy is keeping them out there,” Brizee said.

        “Let them in,” Nick said. Brizee motioned Billy and he stepped aside and Kevin, AJ, and Howie came in.

        “If any of you tease Nick again, you will have to deal with me and don’t think of teasing me or I will call Denise, Paula and Aunt Ann,” Brian said.

        “We promise!” Kevin, AJ, and Howie said.

        “Guys, we have a tour to get back to,” Nick said. They all got their stuff and went back on tour.

Three weeks later, the guys signed Brizee to their label and she started performing onstage as one of their opening acts. Nick was watching her closely. After her set was over, she came offstage and saw him and collapsed in his arms.

        “Briz!” Nick said. Brian, Howie, Kevin, and AJ saw them and ran over to them.

        “Nick, she needs to go to the hospital, she’s really pale,” Brian said. Kevin took her wrist.

        “Her pulse is really racing and she wasn’t moving around fast enough to get it going that fast,” Kevin said. Nick picked her up and carried her out the door. Billy and Eddie followed along with Kristin, Ally, Leighanne, and Hayley. Kevin came out.

        “Nick, we will go on with the show without you, stay with Briz, she needs you, keep us informed, just have Billy call Marcus and Tommy,” Kevin said. Nick nodded. Kevin hugged him.

        “She’ll be okay, Nick,” Kevin said. Nick got into the car and headed for the hospital.  They arrived and got Brizee to a room and the doctor examined her. Nick gave all of the necessary information to a nurse.

        “Mr. Carter, your wife is dehydrated, we will get some fluids in her,” the doctor said.

Two hours later, Nick sat there holding Brizee’s hand as she slept. Brian, Howie, AJ, and Kevin came in.

        “The girls told us,” Brian said quietly.

        “How was the show?” Nick asked.

        “We explained you had a family emergency, it went okay,” Brian said. Brizee woke up and saw them.

        “Hey guys,” Brizee said.

        “You scared us, sis,” Brian said kissing her forehead.

        “Sorry, guys,” Brizee said.

        “We expect you to take off a week from performing so you can rest,” Kevin said.

        “But that would leave you guys short an opening act, what if I performed sitting on a stool,” Brizee said.

        “No, baby, you need to rest, I don’t want to take any risks and I don’t want you to, either,” Nick said stroking her cheek.

        “We agree with Nick, Briz, we don’t want anything to happen to you or the baby,” Brian said. Brizee sighed and nodded and stroked Nick’s face.

Two days later, Brizee was lying in bed on the bus. The guys were practicing at the venue and the girls were on the bus with her, keeping her company.

        “I’m bored out of my mind, I want to go back onstage,” Brizee said.

        “Briz, the guys want you to rest, so do we, we want to be aunts and they want to be uncles and they want to make sure the baby is going to be okay and they don’t want to take the risk of you going out there and overdoing it and collapse again, you scared all of us the other night,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley,” Brizee said.

        “Briz, we all love you, don’t risk your pregnancy to perform, Krystal is doing more songs which is good because she’s on the label, too and they want to promote her, once they have her where they want her, they will focus on you, but you need to be well rested before hitting the stage again,” Hayley said.

        “The guys said that they will make sure you don’t get onstage and you can’t without one of them and they are all in agreement not to help you, so you are stuck in this bed until the week is up and you go to the doctor for a checkup,” Ally said. Brizee groaned and sighed. Nick came back and saw them and smiled.

        “Hey girls,” Nick said sitting on the bed beside Brizee.

        “Hey Nicky,” Hayley said.

        “How is my wife,” Nick said.

        “Bored out of her mind, she wants to get back onstage,” Hayley said.

        “Briz,” Nick said.

        “I’m sorry, Nick, I’m bored, I love singing, I want to be back onstage,” Brizee said.

        “When you have had a week’s worth of rest, baby, okay, please just rest, for me, and our baby,” Nick said. He gave her the puppy dog look.

        “God, you have to do that look and you know I can’t say no to it,” Brizee said.

        “Good girl, now I have two hours before I have to be back in there so how about both of us take a nap together,” Nick said.

        “I could go for that, I can’t sleep with you next to me,” Brizee said. Nick looked at the girls.

        “See ya,” Hayley said. Hayley and Ally left. Nick closed the door and laid down beside her and held her as they went to sleep. Two hours later, Brizee woke up and saw Nick getting ready.

        “Can I lay down in your dressing room?” Brizee asked.

        “Billy!” Nick called. Billy came back.

        “Yeah, boss,” Billy said.

        “Can you carry my wife into the venue and lay her down on the couch in the dressing room?” Nick said.

        “Sure thing,” Billy said. He picked Brizee up and followed Nick into the building and headed for Nick’s dressing room. The guys saw them.

        “Nick,” Kevin said.

        “She wants to lay on the couch in my dressing room,” Nick said. Kevin nodded. He came over and kissed Brizee’s forehead.

        “Get some rest, sis,” Kevin said. Brizee nodded and Billy took her to Nick’s dressing room and laid her down on the couch. Nick kissed her forehead and left the room. Billy stood outside the door. AJ and Howie came up to the door and nodded to Billy and went in.

        “Hey sis,” AJ said. They sat down.

        “Hey, hope you guys can keep me entertained, I’m bored,” Brizee said.

        “Sure we can!” AJ said smiling.

        “Actually, you guys can help me with something else, I want to get back onstage tonight,” Brizee said.

        “No, Briz, we can’t help you there,” Howie said.

        “Guys, please, I’m fine, I feel fine, it would give you guys more time to get ready for the show than going on earlier, please, I’ll sit on a stool, I have been sleeping for the past two days,” Brizee said.

        “After just getting out of the hospital,” Howie said.

        “Guys, please, I don’t ask for much,” Brizee said.

        “Briz, Nick would kill us if we helped you, and if something happened to you or the baby, we would never forgive ourselves,” AJ said.

        “How would you know if anything would happen, I wouldn’t be moving around on the stage, I would be sitting, I could sing no more than four songs, just to get noticed that I’m serious about this, there is already reports of my performance the other night and they are wondering when they are going to see more of me in the business,” Brizee said. AJ looked at Howie.

        “Briz, your health is more important than your career, you and the baby are more important to us than promoting your music, if anything happened to you or the baby, it would kill Nick, you are his everything, we can’t be responsible for anything that happens to you,” Howie said.

        “You won’t, it would be my own fault,” Brizee said.

        “And Nick would kill us for helping you,” AJ said.

        “Guys, please,” Brizee said. They looked at each other.

        “We can’t, Briz, Hayley and Ally would kill us and Nick would help,” AJ said. Hayley and Ally heard that and closed the door.

        “Guys,” Ally said.

        “We came to entertain her and she’s begging us,” AJ said. Ally kissed him.

        “Guys, get her onstage,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley,” Howie said.

        “We’ll take the blame, we will tell Nick, Brian, and Kevin that we threatened you guys and made you guys do it,” Ally said.

That night, Nick went to his dressing room and saw his wife gone. He looked at Billy.

        “Where is she,” Nick said.

        “I’m not supposed to say anything,” Billy said.

        “Billy, I pay the bills and that includes your paycheck so where is my wife,” Nick said.

        “She’s with Ally and Hayley, that’s all I know, I swear,” Billy said.

        “She is supposed to be resting,” Nick said.

        “She said she was going to rest in AJ’s dressing room with Ally and Hayley,” Billy said.

        “Marcus, where is your employers,” Nick said.

        “I was called away to tend to a security matter, sorry, Nick,” Marcus said.

        “Guys, find my wife and the girls!” Nick said. Billy and Marcus left. He went to the area that led onstage and heard music and recognized it and saw AJ, Howie, Hayley, and Ally at the doorway.

        “What the hell is going on!” Nick said. They turned and faced him. He stood there glaring at them with his arms crossed.

        “Nothing,” they said.

        “Is or is that not my wife out there,” Nick said.

        “Not,” Ally said. Nick turned on the screen and saw his wife sitting on a stool singing.

        “Funny, looks like it, how could you guys do this, I thought we all agreed that no one is to help her get onstage,” Nick said.

        “We made them help her, Nick,” Ally said.

        “You two are her best friends, how could you let her risk her and the baby’s health by going out there,” Nick said.

        “Nick, we’re sorry,” Hayley said. Brian, Leighanne, Kevin and Kristin came in and saw what was going on.

        “Nick, why is she onstage,” Kevin said.

        “Ask those four over there, they are the culprits,” Nick said. Kevin looked at AJ, Ally, Howie, and Hayley.

        “Guys, girls, why did you help her,” Kevin said.

        “Kev, she’s only doing four songs,” Howie said.

        “She shouldn’t be out there in the first place, she needs to rest, she just got out of the hospital,” Kevin said.

        “Kev, we know that,” AJ said. Brizee came backstage and saw Nick standing there with Kevin, Kristin, Brian, and Leighanne. Hayley and Ally hugged her as did AJ and Howie. Nick came over to her and took her to his dressing room. She changed and laid down on the couch. He changed for the show and went out the door without speaking to her. She knew he was angry with her. She knew he wasn’t saying anything because he wanted her to be there when he came back after the show. She turned on the TV to watch the show. Hayley and Ally came in. They sat down and watched with her.

        “Briz,” Ally said.

        “He didn’t speak to me at all, I know he is angry, he will want to talk after the show,” Brizee said.

        “How are you feeling?” Hayley said.

        “Tired,” Brizee said. She fell asleep. After the show, Ally and Hayley went back to their guy’s dressing room. Nick came in and saw his wife asleep. He gathered his stuff up and hers and Billy came in and picked her up and carried her out to the bus. He laid her on the bed and left the room. Nick came back and sat beside Brizee on the bed as she woke up and looked at him.

        “I’m sorry,” Brizee said.

        “I hope so, you took a big risk tonight, Brizee, you better hope nothing happens,” Nick said coldly.

        “I know you are mad,” Brizee said.

        “That is an understatement, I’m beyond furious, Briz, Kevin said to take the week to rest and we will see about you going back onstage, but you couldn’t wait, you were willing to risk your health and the baby’s, just to get back onstage, god, Briz, if anything happened to you or the baby, I couldn’t go on, you two are everything to me, you just got out of the hospital two days ago,” Nick said.

        “I know, I’m sorry, okay,” Brizee said. Nick took her hand in his.

        “You were awesome out there,” Nick said. Brizee rested against him.

        “Really?” Brizee said. Nick nodded.

        “Baby, promise me you won’t go behind my back again, promise me you won’t perform until you are in the clear,” Nick said. Brizee looked at him.

        “I promise,” Brizee said. She suddenly grabbed her stomach.

        “Briz,” Nick said holding onto her.

        “Hospital!” Brizee said before passing out.

        “Billy!” Nick yelled. He came back and saw them.

        “Boss,” Billy said.

        “Find a hospital, quick!” Nick said. Billy ran up and told the driver. Luckily they haven’t left the city limits yet and they turned around and headed for the hospital. Nick sat there and called Kevin and told him. The bus pulled up and Billy carried Brizee off the bus just as the other buses pulled in. Nick ran in and talked to a nurse who got an orderly to get a gurney. Billy laid her on it and a doctor came up to them.

        “I’m Dr. Tester, let’s get her in, sir, are you her husband,” she said looking at Nick.

        “Yes, I am,” Nick said.

        “You need to fill out forms and we will examine her and let you know and then you can be with her,” Dr. Tester said. Nick nodded.

        “Please do what you can, don’t let anything happen to her or the baby, please,” Nick said. Dr. Tester nodded and went down the hallway. Nick sat down and filled out the forms as Brian, Leighanne, Kevin, Kristin, AJ, Ally, Howie and Hayley came in. Billy told them what happened.

        “I knew it, way to go, guys,” Brian said looking at AJ and Howie along with Ally and Hayley.

        “AJ, we should have went with our instincts and not listened to the girls,” Howie said.

        “We shouldn’t have talked you guys into it,” Ally said.

        “Guys, stop, you had no way of knowing this would happen, I know my wife, she would have never let anything stopped her from getting onstage,” Nick said. He finished with the forms and turned them in and sat down. Hayley sat down next to him.

        “Nick,” Hayley said.

        “I can’t lose them, sis, I can’t,” Nick said. Hayley hugged him. Dr. Tester came out. Nick stood up and looked at her.

        “How is she,” Nick said. Everyone stood behind him.

        “Are they family?” Dr. Tester asked.

        “We are all family, Brizee is like a sister to us, either way, we will know how she is,” AJ said.

        “Dr. Tester, we are the Backstreet Boys and we are all like brothers, so yes, we are family,” Brian said.

        “How is my wife, Dr. Tester,” Nick said.

        “Brizee and the baby are going to be fine, it was a close call but both of them are going to be okay, I am going to recommend that she go on bed rest for the next two months and after that, she should see a doctor for a checkup and if they give her the all clear, she can resume her normal day activities, she said she sings and that she’s just getting started, she can go back to that if she gets the all clear from a doctor after two months on bed rest, I already went over this with her and she said that this time she is going to follow doctor’s orders,” Dr. Tester said. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

        “Can I be with her,” Nick said.

        “Room 234,” Dr. Tester said.

        “Thank you,” Nick said. He went to be with his wife. He walked in and saw her looking out the window. He sat down on the bed beside her. She looked at him.

        “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have gone onstage,” Brizee said. He took her hand in his.

        “You shouldn’t of, but that doesn’t matter now, I’m just glad you and the baby are going to be okay, now you are under doctor’s orders to stay in bed,” Nick said.

        “I’m not going to be begging to go onstage this time, I promise you that I will be good,” Brizee said. He smiled and kissed her hand.

        “Good girl,” Nick said. He stroked her cheek.

        “I love you, Nicky,” Brizee said. He leaned down and kissed her lips softly.

        “I love you, too, baby,” Nick said softly.

An hour later, Billy carried Brizee to the bed on the bus. He laid her on the bed and left the room. Nick came back and closed the door and stripped to his boxers and helped her change into her nightclothes and got into bed and he faced her as she laid on her back. She laid her head on his arm and he rested a hand on her stomach.
