Mark and Jake were in Lorena’s loft writing a song when Mark told Jake that he kissed Lorena. Jake chased Mark up the ladder and Tony, Sam, Tiffani, Sly, and Lorena came in and Tony was holding onto Jake as he was trying to get to Mark. Lorena stood on the other side of the counter. Tony was having trouble keeping Jake from getting to Mark.

        “Jake, he didn’t mean to, it was a misunderstanding,” Lorena said.

        “Grr!” Jake said as he ignored Lorena and still tried to get to Mark.

        “You know what, Jake Sommers, we are over!” Lorena said before walking downstairs. Tiffani, Sly, Tony, and Sam stood there looking at each other. Jake stopped and realized what happened. He leaned against the wall.

        “Oh god,” Jake said.

        “I’m sorry, Jake,” Sam said. Jake nodded and got his leather jacket and went out the door. Mark came down the ladder.

        “I shouldn’t have told him,” Mark said.

        “We have to do something,” Tiffani said.

        “I think they should work this out on their own,” Tony said. Sam nodded.

        “I have an idea,” Sly said.

The next day, Sam, Tiffani, Tony, Mark, and Sly were at school. Lorena was at her locker. Jake came in and looked at Lorena. Lorena looked at him. She closed her locker and went to class. Jake went to his locker and opened it and stood there.

        “Jake, we have an idea on how you can get Lorena back,” Sly said.

        “Being friends with Mark again isn’t enough, I forgive you, Mark,” Jake said.

        “Thanks, Jake, actually, tonight, we are playing at Sharkey’s and how about dedicating It Must Be Love to her,” Mark said. Jake looked at him.

        “Nothing will work, Mark, I tried calling her last night, she wouldn’t take my calls, I blew it,” Jake said leaning against the lockers.

        “Jake, at least give it a chance,” Sam said.

        “Fine, but it won’t work,” Jake said. He went to class.

That night, they were at Sharkey’s. Jake saw Lorena come in and sit down. He fiddled with his guitar and looked at her. She looked at him and looked away. He looked at Mark who nodded.

        “Hello everyone, this first song is dedicated to Lorena Costa, from Jake,” Mark said. Lorena looked at Jake who nodded to her. They played It Must Be Love. After they were done, Jake looked at Lorena. She got up and went out the door. Jake felt his heart drop. He looked at Mark who shrugged. They finished the set and packed up. Jake sat down and stared at the table.

        “I guess you were right, Jake, I thought the song would do it,” Mark said.

        “I’ve lost her, I totally blew it,” Jake said. Tiffani sat down and hugged him. The others joined the hug.

Mark and Sam walked into the loft and saw Lorena sitting on the couch hugging a pillow.

        “Lorena, what is wrong with you, Jake forgave Mark, they are buds again,” Sam said.

        “I don’t care, Sam, okay, the fact that Mark was honest about the kiss, Jake went over the line,” Lorena said. Mark looked at her.

        “Lorena, it proves how much Jake loves you, the fact that I kissed you, the fact that I kissed his girl, okay, what would you do if Sam kissed Jake, and Sam was honest with you about it,” Mark said.

        “I would kick her back to Hong Kong,” Lorena said.

        “Gee, thanks, Mark,” Sam said.

        “I’m trying to prove a point, Lorena, you are the one Jake loves, it hurt him that I kissed you, it hurt him because the same thing broke up him and Tiffani and he didn’t want to lose you like that, I understand why he wanted to hurt me, because I kissed the woman he’s in love with,” Mark said. Lorena looked at him.

        “I can’t go back, I’m sorry, I can’t,” Lorena said. She went down to her room. Sam looked at Mark. Sly came running in.

        “Guys, you got to come to the hospital,” Sly said.

        “What happened,” Sam said.

        “Jake wrecked his bike, it’s pretty bad,” Sly said. They went to the hospital and went to the room where Tiffani and Tony were. Jake’s head was wrapped up and his leg was in a cast.

        “Oh no,” Sam said.

        “How is he,” Mark said.

        “He’s in a coma,” Tiffani said.

        “Doc said he might not come out of it,” Tony said. Sam hugged Tony. Mark hugged Tiffani.

        “Sly, get Lorena here now, she might be the only one who can help him, do whatever you have to do to get her here,” Sam said. Sly went out the door. Twenty minutes later, Sly came back pulling Lorena behind him.

        “Let me go!” Lorena said. She saw Jake and stood there. She looked at the gang.

        “I told you, Lorena, he’s in a coma, he might not come out of it, you are possibly the only one who can help him,” Sly said. Lorena walked over to Jake and took his hand.

        “I should have listened to you guys, this is my fault,” Lorena said.

        “Talk to him, Lorena,” Tiffani said.

        “Jake, it’s me, I’m here, I want you back, I was being stubborn, I should have never end things with you,” Lorena said. She watched him. He didn’t respond.

Two days went by. Lorena sat there holding his hand when she felt him squeeze her hand.

        “Jake,” Lorena said. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at her.

        “You’re here,” Jake said.

        “Yeah, been here for two days, I haven’t left your side,” Lorena said. Jake held her hand tightly.

        “Don’t leave me,” Jake said.

        “I won’t, never again, I love you, Jake,” Lorena said.

        “I love you, too,” Jake said. Tony, Sam, Mark, Sly, and Tiffani came in.

        “He’s awake!” Lorena said.

        “All right!” Tony said.

        “Hey guys,” Jake said softly.

        “We are so glad you woke up, Jake,” Tiffani said.

        “Thanks, Tiff,” Jake said.

        “This is all my fault, I should have just talked to you after the song,” Lorena said.

        “You are here now, I should have been paying attention to driving,” Jake said.

        “I’m not going to break things off again, you are stuck with me,” Lorena said. Jake smiled.

        “Good, because I want to be stuck with you,” Jake said. Lorena smiled.

Three days later, Jake was released from the hospital and resting in the loft. Lorena was taking care of him. She sat down on the couch beside him.

        “Mark, Tony, and Sly got your bike to the shop and they said it is fixable and will be as good as new and I’m paying for it and no arguments, Sommers, okay,” Lorena said. Jake nodded. Mark and Tiffani came in.

        “Hey guys, how are you feeling, Jake,” Tiffani said.

        “I’m good, Lorena is taking great care of me,” Jake said holding Lorena’s hand.

        “Good, Mark and I are going out on a date tonight,” Tiffani said.

        “That’s great,” Lorena said.

        “I hope things work out, we can double date,” Jake said. Mark and Tiffani smiled.

        “That would be awesome,” Tiffani said.

        “See ya guys,” Mark said. They left. Tony and Sam came home.

        “There might be another couple on the horizon, Mark and Tiff have a date tonight,” Jake said.

        “Triple date,” Sam said.

        “That is possible, too,” Lorena said. Jake took Lorena’s hand and held onto it.

        “Lorena, can you and Sam come down here, please,” Mr. Costa called from the stairs. Lorena and Sam went down to talk to her father. Mr. Costa looked at them.

        “Your mother told me that your boyfriend is staying in the loft,” Mr. Costa said.

        “Daddy, he was in an accident, it’s partly my fault because he was upset that I broke up with him, his parents are out of town visiting his brother at college, he has a broken leg and can’t move on his own,” Lorena said.

        “Mr. Costa, there is nothing bad going on here, me and Tony are here, too, they won’t be alone,” Sam said.

        “Yeah, and Tony and Jake are best friends,” Lorena said. Sam nodded.

        “Okay, he can stay,” Mr. Costa said. Lorena hugged him and went back up with Sam.
