Anne walked into the room and saw her uncle, father,
and the king. Her sister, Mary, was giving birth to the king’s child. Henry
looked at Anne. She bowed. Her father, Thomas, came over.
“Mary
needs you,” Thomas said. Anne nodded and went into the room and took her
sister’s hand and held it.
“You can
do it, Mary,” Anne said. Mary leaned against Anne and pushed again. The baby
came out and the midwife cleaned up the baby and laid the baby in Mary’s arms.
“It’s
a
boy,” she said. Anne smiled and walked out and looked at Henry, her uncle, and
Thomas.
“Anne?”
Thomas asked.
“It’s
a
boy,” Anne said. She bowed to the king and went back in and sat on the bed next
to her sister and smiled at the baby.
“He’s
beautiful, little sister,” Anne said.
“Thank
you for being in here with me,” Mary said.
“You are
my sister, first and foremost, I wouldn’t be anywhere else,” Anne said.
After Mary went to sleep, Anne left the room
and saw Henry.
“Mary is
sleeping, so is your son,” Anne said.
“We need
to talk,” Henry said.
“Your
Grace, now is not the time, my sister just gave birth to your son, you have the
son you have been wanting,” Anne said facing away from him.
“You
really are loyal to Mary, aren’t you,” Henry said.
“She is
my sister, and a part of me, I would not betray her for anything in the world,”
Anne said.
“Anne,
may we have a word with you?” Thomas asked. Henry left the room. Anne looked at
her father and uncle.
“I will
not betray Mary, you can’t force me to,” Anne said.
“I know,
Anne,” Thomas said.
“The king
desires you now,” her uncle said.
“I don’t
care, my sister means everything to me, she loves Henry, she has his son, I
will not betray her, I can’t, if I betray her, it will destroy me, the guilt,
everything, I can’t, uncle, I can’t,” Anne said. She went into Mary’s room and
gently sat on the bed. Mary woke up and saw her.
“Anne,”
Mary said.
“I can’t
believe Uncle and Father, they want me with the king, I told them I couldn’t, I
couldn’t betray you, you are my sister, I couldn’t live with myself if I
betrayed you, you mean everything to me, you are a part of me,” Anne said. Mary
smiled and took Anne’s hand.
“You go
be with Henry, Anne, I’m going back to the country with William, I’m not cut
out for court,” Mary said.
“Mary,
you have the king’s son,” Anne said.
“Anne, if
the king wants you, he won’t stop until he does,” Mary said.
“I don’t
know if I can,” Anne said. Mary hugged her sister.
“You
won’t be betraying me, my place is with my husband, and my son,” Mary said.
Anne got up and walked out and went to find Henry. She found him sitting on his
throne in deep thought.
“Your
Grace,” Anne said. He looked at her.
“What is
it,” Henry said.
“There is
hope,” Anne said. She turned to walk away.
“Hope?”
Henry said.
“You said
before to let you know if there is hope for us, I am telling you there is,”
Anne said.
“What
about Mary?” Henry said.
“Mary
decided to go back to Rochford, with her husband and her son,” Anne said.
“Your
choice or hers?” Henry asked.
“Hers and
hers alone, ask her, she said her place is with her husband and son, not in
court,” Anne said. Henry stood up and came over to her.
“So you
will give yourself to me,” Henry said.
“When you
are loyal to me and no other, you right now are loyal to the queen,” Anne said.
Henry sighed and nodded.
Three days later, there was a trial and the king’s
marriage to the queen was ended and Katherine walked out of the palace as the
former queen of England. Henry turned and headed to where Anne was and she
stood up and faced him.
“Now you
will give yourself to me?” Henry asked.
Anne nodded and he went to her and kissed her. He cupped her face in his
hands.
“I know
how difficult it was for you, I know it wasn’t easy for you,” Anne said.
“It was
worth it, to be with you,” Henry said kissing her neck. He took her right there
on the floor in the room. The next day, it was announced that Henry will be
marrying Anne. Mary and William were getting ready to head to Rochford.
“I will
come back for the wedding, my dear sister, take care,” Mary said hugging her.
Henry came out to them.
“Mary,
take good care of my son,” Henry said
“I will,
your majesty, and thank you for letting us leave,” Mary said.
“You are
always welcome here, soon we will be family,” Henry said hugging Anne close.
“Take
good care of my sister, let no harm come to her,” Mary said.
“I would
give my life for her,” Henry said. Mary hugged Anne and got into the wagon.
Anne watched her go. Henry stood by her side.
“I
already miss her,” Anne said.
“She’ll
be back for the wedding, right,” Henry said.
“Yes, she
will,” Anne said. Henry kissed her forehead. Anne’s uncle came out.
“Anne,
it’s your father, he’s not well,” he said. They went inside to her parent’s
quarters. She went in and saw her mother and brother by the bed.
“Send
someone after Mary, she needs to return immediately,” Anne said looking at her
uncle. He nodded and left the room. Anne stood beside the bed.
“Father,”
Anne said.
“Anne, my
dear daughter,” Thomas said.
“Father,
you have to get better, we can’t lose you,” Anne said holding his hand.
“I’m
so
weak,” Thomas said. Anne looked at Henry. The doctor came in and checked him.
Henry held Anne close.
“I’m
afraid there is nothing I can do,” the doctor said.
“There
has to be something!” Anne said.
“I’m
sorry, Miss Boleyn,” the doctor said. Mary came in with William behind her.
Mary stood next to Anne. Thomas looked at his wife, son, and daughters and
closed his eyes. The doctor checked him and bowed.
“Father!”
Anne cried. Mary hugged William as he held her. Henry took Anne in his arms as
she cried. George held his mother.
That night, Anne sat on the king’s bed, hugging her
knees and crying while staring at the wall. Henry sat on the bed.
“I don’t
think I can get married without my father there,” Anne said softly.
“Anne, he
will be there, he is in each one of you, he is a part of you, Mary, and George,
and he’s watching over you and your family,” Henry said.
“I know,
but it still wouldn’t feel right, Henry, I know I want to be with you, it is just
hard knowing that the happiest day of my life will be sad because my father is
gone,” Anne said. Henry moved beside her and held her close.
“Anne, if
we have a son, we will name him Thomas,” Henry said. Anne looked at him and
smiled and hugged him.
“I was
just thinking about that, I was going to ask you if it was okay,” Anne said.
“Of
course,” Henry said.
“And if
we have a girl, I want to name her Elizabeth after our mothers,” Anne said.
“Perfect,”
Henry said. He kissed her forehead. He laid her on the bed and laid beside her
and kissed her softly.
“Henry,
please,” Anne said. He looked in her eyes and knew what she wanted. He removed
his clothes and hers and slowly and gently made love to her.
Three weeks later, Anne received the news that she was
with child which made Henry extremely happy. They were married the next day and
Anne was crowned Queen of England. She laid in bed resting. Mary and George
came in.
“Anne,”
Mary said.
“I am so
tired, Henry wants me to stay in bed and rest,” Anne said.
“That is
what you should do,” Mary said.
“Henry is
doing his duty, he isn’t with another woman,” George said.
“He told
me he gave all that up, that I was the only woman for him,” Anne said.
“And you
always will be,” Henry said coming in.
Anne smiled. He came over and kissed her forehead.
“You
okay,” Henry said.
“I’m
okay,” Anne said.
“We will
leave you two be,” Mary said. She and George left the room. Henry sat on the
bed and took her hand in his.
“Rest, my
dear, I want you resting and relaxed,” Henry said. Anne nodded.
“I will,”
Anne said. Henry laid on the bed next to her and held her.
“I never
want to let you go,” Henry said.
“I don’t
want you to,” Anne said. She fell asleep. Henry fell asleep with her. A few
hours later, she woke up screaming. Henry woke up and sat up with her.
“Anne,”
Henry said. George and Mary came running in with Jane and William behind them.
“We heard
her screaming down the hallway,” Mary said. Henry held his queen as she sobbed.
“Anne,
sis, what happened,” Mary said sitting beside her.
“Pain,
there’s pain!” Anne cried holding her stomach.
“William,
get the doctor!” Mary said. He ran down the hallway. Henry held her close.
“I think
I’m losing the baby!” Anne cried. Henry held her as the doctor came in and
examined her. Henry looked at him.
“She will
need to remain on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy,” the doctor
said.
“So the
baby is okay?” Anne asked.
“The baby
is fine, I will need you to stay calm and relaxed and in bed for the rest of
the pregnancy,” the doctor said. Henry thanked him and he left. Henry looked at
Anne.
“I will
be here with you,” Henry said.
“Henry,”
Anne said.
“I want
to be here with you, I can take care of things from anywhere in the palace,”
Henry said. He looked at William and George.
“Your
brother and brother-in-law will be in charge while I’m here and they can take
care of things, they can report to me if needed to,” Henry said.
“We won’t
let you down, your grace,” William said bowing. He and George left. Anne rested
against Henry.
“I don’t
want to be anywhere but here, I want to hold you and never let go,” Henry said.
Meanwhile… George and William told Mrs. Boleyn and her
brother about Anne and what Henry said. Elizabeth looked at her brother.
“If all
three of you work together, things will be better than before, Anne needs Henry
right now, and from what George and William said, he will not leave her side
for anything,” Elizabeth said. Her brother nodded.
“Let’s
get to work, no one goes to the king unless it is an emergency,” Thomas
said. They went to work looking after
England for Henry while he remained at Anne’s bedside. He laid there watching
her sleep. He vowed never to leave her
and vowed to love her and be with only her forever. George quietly came in.
Henry looked at him.
“I came
to check to see if she was sleeping,” George said quietly.
“She
finally went to sleep,” Henry said quietly.
“William
and I are working with my uncle, all three of us are taking care of everything,
it was my mother’s idea,” George said quietly. Henry nodded.
