Elizabeth sat in the courtroom. Her twin sister, Jessica, was on trial for drug possession. Elizabeth knew Jessica was innocent. She looked around the courtoom and saw Tom in the back of the room. She turned back and leaned forward and squeezed Jessica’s shoulder. They were waiting for the judge to return. Jessica’s boyfriend, Nick, had brought in the guy who had met Jessica for the exchange and they were in the judge’s chambers. Jessica looked at Elizabeth and smiled at her.

“It’ll be okay, Jess, I won’t turn my back on you,” Elizabeth said.

“I know, Lizzie,” Jessica said. Elizabeth handed Jessica Todd’s sweatband.

        “What’s this,” Jessica said.

“It’s Todd’s lucky sweatband, long story, but it brings him luck, he wore it everytime he had an exam, and every exam he wore that to, he got an A on it, he lent it to me to bring some luck into the courtroom,” Elizabeth said.

“I need all the luck I can get,” Jessica said holding onto the sweatband tight.

Judge Dodd, Nick, and the guy came out and the judge sat down on the bench.

“In light of new evidence and new testimony, the case against Jessica Wakefield is dismissed, I would like that woman to be arrested for fraud and drug possession with the intent to sell,” Judge Dodd said pointing to Celine. Elizabeth stood up and hugged Jessica. Steven hugged both of his sisters. Jessica handed her the sweatband.

“Tell Todd thanks, it did bring luck,” Jessica said. They all left the courthouse. Elizabeth saw Tom leaving. Jessica looked at her.

“I guess you two are over?” Jessica said. Elizabeth nodded.

“Yeah, we are, he wants nothing to do with me, he didn’t believe what I said about his father,” Elizabeth said. Steven went after Tom.

“Tom!” Steven said. Tom stopped and looked at him.

        “Hi Steven,” Tom said.

“How could you call my sister a liar, she hasn’t lied about anything in her life!” Steven said.

“She said my father came onto her, he denied it,” Tom said.

“I’m sorry but I think your father is covering it up because he is afraid to lose you again after finding you after all these years, come on, man, you know her as well as I do, has she ever lied to you about anything?!” Steven said. Tom hung his head.

“No, I don’t know what to believe anymore,” Tom said.

“My sister loves you, she wouldn’t lie to you, not about that, or anything,” Steven said.

        “Steven,” Elizabeth said.

        “Yeah,” Steven said.

“I need to talk to Tom alone,” Elizabeth said. Steven went over to Jessica and they stood there watching them. Elizabeth looked at Tom.

“I think it’s time to just let go, I told you the whole truth and you refused to believe me, now, it doesn’t matter anymore, you have your father, there is no room for me anymore, I don’t want to share you, I think it’s best if we just stay broken up and go our separate ways,” Elizabeth said. Tom looked at her.

        “Liz, I’m sorry,” Tom said.

“You didn’t believe me because you didn’t want to lose your father again, I understand that, I don’t want you to lose your father, I gotta go, see you around campus,” Elizabeth said. She left with Jessica and Steven. She walked to Todd’s dorm and knocked on his door.  He opened the door and saw her and smiled.

“How did it go?” Todd asked.

“Jess is free, all charges were dropped, Nick found the guy who met Jess for the exchange and he confessed who was really behind the deal, Celine was behind everything, she’s in jail,” Elizabeth said.

“Thank god, I guess the sweatband was lucky,” Todd said. She handed it back and smiled at him.

        “Yeah, it was,” Elizabeth said.

        “You okay, Liz?” Todd asked.

“No,” Elizabeth said. He pulled her in and closed the door. He sat her down.

        “What’s wrong,” Todd said.

“Tom was there, I talked to him,” Elizabeth said.

“So things are okay with you two?” Todd asked.

“Things are over between me and him, for good, I can’t be with him ever again, he didn’t believe me when I said the stuff about his father,” Elizabeth said.

“He didn’t deserve you,” Todd said.

“You are right about that,” Elizabeth said.

“Hey, I would have believed you,” Todd said.

        “Really,” Elizabeth said.

“Yeah, but you know my dad wouldn’t do that,” Todd said.

“I know, how is he, by the way,” Elizabeth said.

“Good, he and Mom are on a cruise in the Bahamas,” Todd said.

“So is my parents, I bet they are on the same ship and are hanging out,” Elizabeth said.

“It’s amazing that they still get along and have get togethers,” Todd said.

“Yeah, it was like it was meant to be,” Elizabeth said.

“I always thought that, about us,” Todd said.

“Same here, oh god, Todd, I made a huge mistake,” Elizabeth said.

“I think we both did, and we learned from it,” Todd said. Elizabeth kissed him.

“I want you back,” Elizabeth said.

“I want you back, too,” Todd said. He kissed her and hugged her.

        “Todd,” Elizabeth said.

“I promise, things will be better this time, no pressuring to get you into bed, we will have the same relationship as we did in high school,” Todd said.

“Good, I want to wait until marriage,” Elizabeth said.

“Good, because so do I,” Todd said.

“You mean you haven’t?” Elizabeth said.

“No, I guess I was saving myself for you,” Todd said.

        “Really,” Elizabeth said.

“Yeah, I would get close and I couldn’t do it,” Todd said. Elizabeth smiled and hugged him. There was a knock at the door. Todd got up and opened it and saw Alex who used to be Elizabeth’s best friend, Enid, who was now going by Alex Rollins.

        “Hi Todd, Liz,” Alex said.

        “Hi Alex,” Elizabeth said.

“I want to go by Enid again and I want my best friend back,” Alex said.

        “What changed,” Elizabeth said.

“Everything, I missed my best friend,” Alex said. Elizabeth got up and hugged her.

“Everything is the way it should be,” Elizabeth said.

“Are you two back together?” Enid said.

“Yes, we are,” Elizabeth said hugging Todd.

“Good, it’s about time,” Enid said.

“You mean you wanted us back together,” Elizabeth said. Enid smiled.

“Oh yeah, Tom is different, I knew he couldn’t make you as happy as Todd did in high school and I know it’s college now but still, you and Todd are made for each other,” Enid said. Winston came in.

“Besides, me and Winston hooked up so we can double date!” Enid said hugging him.

“You two are back together?” Winston asked.

“Yup, and I’m not letting her go this time,” Todd said holding Elizabeth close.

        “Awesome!” Winston said.

“Let’s go out to eat, we have to celebrate,” Elizabeth said. They went out to eat. Todd walked Elizabeth back to her dorm.

        “Goodnight,” Todd said.

“Goodnight, see you tomorrow?” Elizabeth said.

“You bet,” Todd said. He kissed her deeply. He hugged her and went to his dorm. Elizabeth walked into her room and saw Jessica and Nick making out on her bed.

“Sorry,” Elizabeth said. They sat up.

        “It’s okay, sis,” Jessica said.

        “It’s okay,” Nick said.

“I’m glad to see you guys like this,” Elizabeth said.

        “I’m happy,” Jessica said.

“I am happy, too, Todd and I are back together, Alex is going by Enid again and is my best friend again and she’s with Winston now,” Elizabeth said.  The phone rang. Elizabeth picked it up.

        “Hello,” Elizabeth said.

        “Hey, it’s me,” Todd said.

        “Hey, what’s up,” Elizabeth said.

“You will never guess who was waiting by my dorm room when I got here,” Todd said.

“Who,” Elizabeth said as Jessica said goodnight to Nick and he left.

“Ken Matthews, he just transferred to SVU,” Todd said. Elizabeth looked at Jessica.

        “You’re kidding, right,” Elizabeth said.

        “No,” Todd said.

“That’s great, how has he been,” Elizabeth said.

        “Fine, you okay,” Todd said.

        “I’m good, why,” Elizabeth said.

        “You sound weird,” Todd said.

“I’m fine, Todd, I’ll see you tomorrow, goodnight,” Elizabeth said. She hung up and sat on her bed.

“Liz, what is it,” Jessica said.

“That was Todd, he said that he had a visitor waiting for him at his dorm,” Elizabeth said.

        “Who?” Jessica asked.

        “Your ex,” Elizabeth said.

        “Who?” Jessica asked.

        “Ken,” Elizabeth said.

“Ken’s here, at SVU,” Jessica said.

“Yeah, he transferred here,” Elizabeth said.

The next day, Jessica and Elizabeth walked out of their building and saw Todd and Ken waiting there.

“There they are,” Ken said. Jessica looked at him. She had weird feelings.

“Why are you here,” Jessica asked.

“Are you not happy to see me, Jess,” Ken said.

“That depends on why you transferred here,” Jessica said. Elizabeth shook her head and hugged him.

“It’s good to see you, Ken,” Elizabeth said before moving to Todd and hugging him. He kissed her and held her. Ken looked at Jessica.

“I wanted to be closer to home,” Ken said.

“You had a full ride to Texas, why come back,” Jessica said.

“I came back for you, Jess, okay, that’s why I’m here,” Ken said.

        “Me?” Jessica said.

“Yeah, I can’t stop thinking about you, not since high school, I couldn’t have a serious relationship because I would always screw it up because I would call them Jessica and none of them was named Jessica, nothing has been the same since we broke up, I know we broke up because you fell for Christian but time heals wounds,” Ken said. Nick came up to them.

“Hey, what’s going on here,” Nick said.

“Nick, this is Ken Matthews, Todd’s best friend from high school and my ex, he just transferred to SVU, Ken, this is Nick Fox, my boyfriend,” Jessica said. She saw Ken’s face drop and he forced a smile and shook Nick’s hand.

“Nice to meet you,” Nick said.

        “You, too,” Ken said.

“What brings you by,” Jessica said.

“There was a break in at the student center,” Nick said.

“Are you a student here?” Ken asked.

“No, I didn’t go to college, I was in the army and then went to the police academy and I’m a cop, a detective to be accurate,” Nick said.

        “I see,” Ken said.
