Brizee sat there looking at her boyfriend, Nick. He just admitted to her what he was, a vampire. She sat there in disbelief that the guy she was so in love with was different. She looked at her hands. Nick sat beside her.

        “Briz, I’m sorry, I know I’m different than everyone else,” Nick said.

        “Is it just you or are there others?” Brizee said.

        “Just me and the guys, Kevin was the first, he changed all of us,” Nick said.

        “Kris, Leighanne, Leigh, Ro?” Brizee said.

        “They know but they are still normal, we aren’t evil, Briz, we don’t bite humans, we drink animal blood, we made a pact to never drink from a human, so you and the girls have nothing to worry about, we could never hurt anyone we love,” Nick said.

        “I don’t know about this,” Brizee said.

        “Briz, my feelings for you are real, I love you so much, you are everything to me, I could never do anything to hurt you,” Nick said. Brizee stood up and went upstairs.

        “Briz,” Nick said following her.

        “I need to be alone,” Brizee said going into the bedroom and closing the door. She sat on the bed and hugged her legs to her chest and rested her forehead on her knees. Her cell phone rang. She looked and saw Leighanne’s number.

        “Leighanne,” Brizee said.

        “Briz, you okay, did he tell you?” Leighanne asked.

        “Yeah, I don’t know what to do,” Brizee said.

        “Briz, it will be okay, nothing has to change, he won’t hurt you, he loves you too much to do that,” Leighanne said.

        “But Leighanne, he’s a vampire, he won’t age, he’ll stay the same forever,” Brizee said.

        “I know, Briz, but they will never stop loving us, no matter what,” Leighanne said.

        “I don’t doubt his love for me, I’m just not sure how to handle this,” Brizee said.

        “Briz, you can do this, nothing will have to change, he loves you, you love him, just because he is different, doesn’t mean things have to change, he is the man you love, in all ways that count,” Leighanne said.

        “What if they want to change us,” Brizee said.

        “They can’t unless we want it, if they ask and we say no, they can’t change us unless we want them to, we can always change our minds but they can’t do it without our permission,” Leighanne said. Brizee looked over at a picture of her and Nick together.

        “I just can’t believe this is happening, I thought I found the perfect guy,” Brizee said.

        “You did, Briz, we all did, they are all perfect guys for us, they love us, they would never hurt us for anything in the world, don’t let the truth destroy everything, Briz, you are strong, you can handle anything, the girls and I will come by in the morning, okay,” Leighanne said.

        “Okay, bye,” Brizee said. She hung up and sat there. Nick came into the bedroom slowly. She looked up at him as he stood by the bed. She pulled him onto the bed.

        “I love you,” Brizee said. Nick took her into his arms and hugged her.

        “I love you, too, please don’t leave me, ever, I can’t go on without you,” Nick said.

        “I’m not going anywhere,” Brizee said.

        “I need to ask you something,” Nick said.

        “What is it,” Brizee said.

        “I want to be with you forever, will you let me change you?” Nick said. She looked at him.

        “I can’t,” Brizee said. Nick nodded and stroked her cheek.

        “You aren’t mad?” Brizee asked. He shook his head.

        “I asked, you answered, I can’t be mad, I can’t ever be mad at you, baby,” Nick said. She kissed him deeply.

        “Make love to me,” Brizee said. He kissed her tenderly as they laid on the bed and he removed their clothes and slid on a condom and he slowly and gently made love to her. The next morning, Brizee woke up and saw Nick laying there watching her. She smiled. He smiled and kissed her softly. They heard the doorbell rang.

        “The girls are here,” Nick said. They got up and got dressed and went downstairs. Brizee opened the door and saw Leighanne, Kristin, Rochelle, and Leigh.

        “Hey,” Brizee said.

        “Hey, let’s go shopping,” Kristin said. Brizee grabbed her purse and phone. She kissed Nick and left with the girls. They went to the mall.

        “Briz, you okay,” Leighanne said.

        “Yeah, I’m fine now,” Brizee said.

        “We have some news, the girls and I are going to a sperm bank to get pregnant, so we can have kids with our guys,” Leighanne said.

        “Why?” Brizee said.

        “Briz, we can’t get pregnant by the guys,” Leighanne said.

        “What,” Brizee said.

        “We can’t have their babies, we would die before we give birth,” Leighanne said.

They went to the doctor and got the paperwork filled out and the doctor examined each of them. The doctor came in.

        “Rochelle, you are already pregnant,” she said.

        “Oh god, no,” Rochelle said.

        “Was it planned?” she asked.

        “No, abort it, now!” Rochelle said. They took her down the hall. Leighanne, Kristin, Leigh, and Brizee looked at each other.

        “I can’t believe it, I thought she and AJ would have been more careful, they both know the consequences,” Leigh said.

        “Maybe the protection didn’t work,” Brizee said. The doctor came back in.

        “Somehow Rochelle is too far along for an abortion,” the doctor said. They went down the hall and found her. She was crying. Leighanne hugged her.

        “Let’s get out of here,” Leigh said. They told the doctor they would come back another time and left and went to Nick’s where the guys were.

        “Girls,” Kevin said. They saw Rochelle.

        “Ro,” AJ said.

        “I’m going to die!” Rochelle said as they sat her down.

        “What, how,” AJ said.

        “Your baby!” Rochelle said.

        “Oh god,” Nick said.

        “How did it happen, I thought we all had to use protection,” Kevin said.

        “We did, every single time,” AJ said.

        “One didn’t work apparently,” Rochelle said.

        “How did you find this out?” Brian asked.

        “We were all going to surprise you all and we went to the doctor to see about getting pregnant by using sperm donors from the sperm bank to have healthy normal babies,” Leighanne said.

        “But we couldn’t because they said Rochelle was already pregnant and she’s too late for an abortion, so we had to get out of there before they could do the process,” Leigh said.

        “I don’t want to die,” Rochelle said crying. AJ sat next to her and held her in his arms. He looked at Kevin.

        “I’ll call my dad,” Kevin said. He called his father. Two minutes later, his father came in.  He examined Rochelle.

        “Okay, there is a possibility that she’ll make it to delivery but she might not survive the birth,” Jerald said.

        “Is there anything else that can be done?” AJ asked.

        “Only if she’ll let it happen,” Jerald said.

        “What’s that,” Rochelle said.

        “As soon as the baby is out, AJ changes you,” Jerald said.

        “What,” AJ said.

        “Are you saying that I’ll die either way,” Rochelle said.

        “But if he changes you, you’ll be there for your baby,” Jerald said. Rochelle looked at AJ.

        “But she can’t be changed now?” Brizee asked.

        “Not with the baby inside her,” Jerald said.

        “Ro?” AJ asked.

        “If it’s the only way,” Rochelle said. He kissed her forehead. Nick looked at Brizee.

        “Ro, marry me,” AJ said.

        “Yes,” Rochelle said.

Two weeks later, Rochelle and AJ were married. As were Nick and Brizee, Brian and Leighanne, Howie and Leigh, and Kevin and Kristin. Leighanne, Brizee, Leigh, and Kristin went to the doctor and did the process and now are waiting to see if they become pregnant. Brizee stood at the sliding doors. Nick stood behind her and held her close.

        “I love you, baby, so much,” Nick said.

        “I love you, too,” Brizee said. Nick put his hands on her stomach and smiled.

        “It worked, baby, I can feel it, you know what I mean,” Nick said.

        “You mean I’m pregnant?” Brizee asked.

        “No, baby, we are pregnant,” Nick said. Brizee smiled and kissed him softly and hugged him. The phone rang.

        “Hello, Leighanne, yeah, Nick said I was, he felt it, Brian said the same, I wonder if Howie and Kevin said the same about Kris and Leigh, they did so we all are pregnant, how’s Ro, we’ll be right there,” Brizee said. Nick got them to AJ’s and found Rochelle in painful labor. They all stood and watched Jerald get the baby out. Kristin took the baby while Jerald and AJ tended to Rochelle. They saw Rochelle starting to fade. Jerald looked at AJ and nodded. AJ bit Rochelle. So they stood there and watched as Rochelle changed. She sat up and looked at AJ. She hugged him.

        “I’m hungry,” Rochelle said. AJ took her out to hunt. They came back smiling.

        “I’m proud of her, she ignored a human and went after an animal,” AJ said.

        “Just make sure she doesn’t hurt the girls,” Kevin said.      

        “They are my best friends, I couldn’t do that,” Rochelle said. Kevin looked at her.

        “You might not have any control over it,” Kevin said.

        “I’ll get her trained,” AJ said.

Three months later, Leighanne, Brizee, Leigh, and Kristin were three months along with their pregnancies. Rochelle and AJ’s daughter was growing rapidly. Jerald was keeping an eye on her. Rochelle was doing better than the guys expected. She never went after human blood. She still hung with the girls and was her usual self.    The girls were out shopping. They went to the food court and sat down and ate.

        “These cravings are kicking me in the butt,” Leighanne said as she ate her food.

        “I know, I was craving cookies last night, but instead of milk to dip them in, applesauce,” Kristin said.

        “Chicken Fajitas,” Leigh said.

        “Pizza,” Brizee said.

        “All this at night?” Rochelle said.

        “For a midnight snack,” Brizee said.

        “Howie thought I was crazy cooking in the middle of the night,” Leigh said.

        “I’m glad I don’t have to worry about that anymore,” Rochelle said quietly.

        “You sure you are okay with it,” Brizee said.

        “I had no other choice, nothing else could have been done, plus I get to spend forever with AJ and Ava,” Rochelle said.

They talked and went home. Brizee walked into her house and put her purse and keys down and felt arms around her and hands resting on her expanding stomach.

        “I missed you, baby,” Nick said nuzzling her neck.

        “Same here,” Brizee said.

        “You okay,” Nick said resting his chin on her shoulder.

        “Yeah, I guess,” Brizee said.

        “Briz,” Nick said.

        “I just wish Ro was normal like me and the girls,” Brizee said. Nick turned her to face him.

        “I know, baby, they were just careless,” Nick said.

        “What,” Brizee said.

        “AJ admitted they forgot protection one night,” Nick said.

        “Oh god,” Brizee said.

        “He really got chewed out by Kevin, but nothing can be done about it now,” Nick said.

        “As soon as I have the baby, I’m going on birth control,” Brizee said. He kissed her softly.

        “Good, I hate condoms, Jerald said it would be safer if you, Leighanne, Leigh, and Kristin went on birth control pills rather than us using condoms all the time,” Nick said.

        “What did he say about us making love while I’m pregnant,” Brizee said.

        “No go,” Nick said.

        “Oh,” Brizee said.

        “I’m sorry, baby, he said that it would risk hurting the babies, he was telling this to me, Kev, Brian, and Howie at the time,” Nick said. Brizee hugged him.

        “We can still lay in bed and make out, but that’s as far as we can go,” Nick said.

        “This is going to be torture,” Brizee said.

        “Tell me about it,” Nick said. His cell phone rang.

        “Yeah, Kev, what, but your dad said no, what, are you sure, you did, and she’s okay, and the baby, too, yeah, bye,” Nick said. He hung up.

        “What is it,” Brizee said.

        “Come here,” Nick said. They went upstairs to their bedroom and closed the door and locked it. He sat on the bed and pulled her to stand in front of him.

        “Nicky,” Brizee said. She stroked his face.

        “Kevin and Kristin made love, they couldn’t help it and she’s fine and so is the baby,” Nick said.

        “But you said that his dad said no,” Brizee said.

        “I know, but he wanted her so badly, just as I want you right now,” Nick said. He slowly removed her clothes and ran his hands over her body.

        “Be gentle,” Brizee said. He removed his clothes and he moved up on the bed and she laid beside him and they got under the covers. He reached over and put a condom on and he moved her on top of him.

        “This way, he said this way was safe,” Nick said.

        “Make love to me,” Brizee said. He gently and slowly made love to her. She laid beside him.

        “You okay,” Nick said.

        “Oh yeah,” Brizee said. He faced her and ran his hand up and down her body and rested his hand on her stomach.

        “I can feel it, the baby’s fine,” Nick said.

        “Good,” Brizee said. She rested her hand on top of his and fell asleep. Nick laid there watching her sleep. He sensed someone in the house. He got up and got dressed and went downstairs and saw Brian and Howie.

        “Guys,” Nick said.

        “We know, Nick, you and Briz, you heard what Jerald said,” Brian said.

        “Kevin didn’t tell you, he and Kris did it and she’s fine and so is the baby, we can do it, guys, just wear protection and be gentle and slow and the girls on top,” Nick said. Brian and Howie looked at each other.

        “Bye!” They said as they went home to make love to their wives. Nick locked up and went upstairs and laid on the bed and watched his wife sleep.

Eight months later, Brizee sat in the nursery holding her baby girl. Nick came in and leaned down and kissed her forehead and kissed the baby’s forehead.

        “I love you, baby,” Nick said.

        “I love you, too,” Brizee said. Nick knelt down beside the chair she was sitting in.

        “How are my girls,” Nick said stroking the baby’s forehead.

        “Doing great, I’m really happy,” Brizee said. He smiled and kissed her deeply.

        “Me, too, I’m so lucky to have you, and our little girl,” Nick said.

Two months later, things went downhill for the group. Someone had found out the truth about them and told the press and the group was forced to leave Florida and they moved to South America to their private island.  Brian, Howie, AJ, Kevin, and Nick held a press conference before they left, announcing they were no longer going to make any more albums and tour, basically stating that the Backstreet Boys were over. Brizee stood there looking out.

        “Emily won’t have a normal life, stuck here on this island, no one to play with except Baylee, James, and Mason,” Brizee said. Nick wrapped his arms around her.

        “I know, baby, I’m sorry,” Nick said.

        “I can’t believe this happened, how could someone be so cruel, how could someone have found out the truth, we all were so careful,” Brizee said.

        “We know how they found out,” Kevin said.

        “How,” Nick said.

        “Someone was hiking in the woods, saw Howie and AJ on a hunt and saw them kill deers, they couldn’t understand how come they would need to hunt deer if they were human so the guy realized they weren’t human,” Kevin said.

        “How could Howie and AJ not know someone was in the woods,” Brizee said.

        “Their senses were overwhelmed by their need to eat,” Kevin said.

        “I just realized something, Emily, Baylee, Mason, James, when they get older, they are going to wonder why you guys aren’t getting older, and they are going to wonder why you guys won’t age, how are we going to explain that?” Brizee said. Kevin, Howie, Brian, and Nick looked at each other.

        “We never thought of that,” Howie said.

        “Oh god, are we going to have to tell them the truth?” Brian asked.

        “They can’t know the truth, we just have to do things to make ourselves look older, like color our hair and stuff,” Kevin said. Brizee looked at him.

        “How are going to explain it all when you guys outlive them?” Brizee asked.

        “I guess we will have to fake our deaths,” Brian said.

        “I don’t know if I can put Emily through that,” Brizee said.

        “It’s better than telling the truth,” Kevin said.

        “Maybe the girls and I shouldn’t have go through with having kids,” Brizee said.

        “No, don’t you say that, Briz, I am glad you did, Emily is one of the best things that ever happened to me, I love her like she was my own and I would die without her, you and Emily are everything to me, if anything happened to you or Emily, I couldn’t go on,” Nick said.

        “But what kind of life is this, stuck out here on this island, in exile, what kind of life is that for a child,” Brizee said. Nick hugged her tight to him.

        “We will get through this together, all of us, I love you,” Nick said. Brizee held onto him.

        “We are all family, we stick together,” Kevin said.

        “You guys are my brothers,” Brizee said. Kevin, Howie, and Brian joined the hug. The guys pulled away and looked outside and saw boats coming towards the island.

        “Trouble, get the girls and the kids in one room,” Nick said. He kissed Brizee and they got AJ and went to the beach. The girls huddled with the kids in Nick and Brizee’s bedroom and looked out the window.

        “What’s happening,” Leighanne said.

        “Hunters, wanting to rid the world of vampires,” Rochelle said.  She told Ava to stay put.

        “If I don’t come back, you four take care of Ava,” Rochelle said. They looked at her.

        “Ro,” Leigh said.

        “I can help them, you guys are human, I’m not,” Rochelle said. She ran out and joined the guys on the beach.  With Leighanne watching the kids, Leigh, Brizee, and Kristin went out to the beach and stood in front of the boys and Rochelle.

        “What are you guys doing,” Howie said.

        “Helping,” Leigh said.

        “You could be killed!” Howie said.

        “We are human!” Leigh said. The boats reached the shores.

        “Stop please!” Brizee said. The group stopped in their tracks.

        “They need to be gone!” one guy said.

        “What is your name?” Kristin said.

        “Gary, I’m the leader of this group, we are here to take them out and rid the world of them,” Gary said.

        “They are no threat to anyone!” Leigh said.

        “They could kill us,” Gary said.

        “They don’t hunt people, they hunt animals, they are no threat to humans, we are proof, we are their wives, we are humans, they haven’t hurt us, they made a pact to never do anything to us that we don’t want them to do, if we wanted to be vampires, they couldn’t do it without our permission, they had asked us if we want to change, we said no and they have respected that,” Kristin said.

        “She’s one of them!” Gary said pointing to Rochelle.

        “There was no choice in that matter, she and AJ forgot protection and she got pregnant, she had the choice to either die giving birth or change, she wanted to be with her baby and AJ so she made that choice, but the rest of us wanted to stay human,” Kristin said.

        “They all made a pact to never bite humans, they hunt animals, they can survive on animal blood, they are no danger to any of you, they left the states and we are all living here on this island because they own this island, we know we can’t come back to the main land to live, let us live in peace and you all can go on with your lives and not have to worry about them, they won’t be hunting you or any human,” Brizee said.

        “You could be lying,” Gary said.

        “I swear to you that I’m not, how do you think the world found out about them, because a guy on a hike saw Howie and AJ killing a deer, were they killing a human or sucking blood out of a human, no, it was deer, an animal, they didn’t know the guy was there, their hunger overwhelmed their senses,” Brizee said. Gary looked at the guys and looked at the group.

        “Well, I see your point and I guess they aren’t any danger to any of us, since the four ladies are still human, let’s go,” Gary said. Gary and the group got on the boats and left.  

Three years later, word got to them that they were no longer hunted and that people accepted who they were so they had returned home to the states and resumed their lives and the guys reformed the group and were making music. Brizee, Leighanne, Leigh, and Kristin were out shopping. They got into the car and were headed home when a car crashed into theirs and everything went black.

Nick, Brian, Howie, Kevin, and AJ were at the studio recording when they sensed something.

        “Oh no, the girls,” Brian said. They all ran out of the studio and went to the hospital.

        “Guys, the doctor will be right out,” the nurse said.  They all sat there waiting. AJ called Rochelle to check on the babies. She said that she and Ava were taking care of them and to keep her informed. The doctor came out.

        “How are they?” Brian asked as they stood up.

        “Leighanne and Leigh are going to be fine, a few cuts and bruises, Leighanne has a broken arm and Leigh has a broken leg but they should be fine, Kristin and Brizee are another story,” the doctor said.

        “Doc?” Kevin asked.

        “They are both in a coma, it’s too soon to know if they will make it,” Dr. Edwards said. Kevin and Nick went to their rooms. Nick sat on the bed and took her hand in his.

        “Baby, I’m here, you can’t leave me and Em, we need you,” Nick said.  He kissed her hand.

Nick and Kevin stayed at the hospital with their wives.  Nick sat by Brizee’s bedside watching her.

        “I love you, baby, so much, it’s been three days, you need to wake up, baby,” Nick said.

        “Mr. Carter,” Dr. Edwards said.

        “What’s the latest on my wife?” Nick asked.

        “I’m afraid it isn’t good, your wife will survive but she will not wake up from the coma, I’m sorry,” Dr. Edwards said.

        “Is there anything that can be done?” Nick asked.

        “I’m sure if you changed her, she might come out of it,” Dr. Edwards said.

        “I can’t without her permission, I asked her before and she said she couldn’t, she has to be able to say yes,” Nick said.

        “Very well, I can make arrangements for her to be moved to your home and have private home care,” Dr. Edwards said.

        “Thank you,” Nick said.

Three days later, Nick was at home with Brizee.  He sat there and watched her. Brian, Howie, Kevin, Rochelle, and AJ came in. They sat with him.

        “Nick,” Brian said.

        “How are the girls,” Nick said.

        “Kris is awake and going home tomorrow, Leighanne and Leigh are okay, Leighanne’s sister is with her and Leigh’s mom is with her,” Kevin said.

        “What did Dr. Edwards say,” Brian said.

        “She’ll live, but will never wake up,” Nick said.

        “Oh man,” AJ said.

        “He suggested that she might wake up if I changed her, but I can’t do that without her permission,” Nick said.

        “Nick, change her,” Rochelle said.

        “She said no,” Nick said.

        “The girls and I were talking last week, I asked them that if something happens to them to where they can’t make decisions like they are in a coma and would never wake up and if the only way was for the guys to change them, what would they want, they all said that if it came down to that, to change them in order to get them to wake up,” Rochelle said.

        “Can you see the future or something?” Nick asked.

        “No, we were just talking about random stuff,” Rochelle said. Nick looked at Brizee.

        “So she said to change her if there is no hope,” Nick said.

        “Yes,” Rochelle said.

        “I’m going to give it a year, if there is no change, I’ll change her,” Nick said.

        “That would be a good idea, no sense of doing anything if some miracle happens,” Kevin said.

Six months later, Dr. Edwards was making a house call to check on Brizee’s condition and was amazed at his results.

        “Doc?” Nick asked.

        “Her condition has changed, she’s in the process of coming back to us,” Dr. Edwards said.

        “How soon?” Nick asked.

        “Any day,” Dr. Edwards said.

Two days later, Nick sat with Brizee. He held her hand. He felt her squeeze his hand.

        “Briz, baby,” Nick said. She stirred and opened her eyes and blinked and looked at him.

        “Nicky,” Brizee said.

        “Thank god, I thought you would never wake up,” Nick said kissing her hand.

        “Last thing I remember was I was in the car and another car hit us, where am I?” Brizee asked.

        “You are at home, we have the room set up because we were told you would never wake up, so we arranged for private home care,” Nick said.

        “How long?” Brizee said.

        “Six months ago, then Dr. Edwards came and ran some tests and he said your condition changed and you were coming back to us,” Nick said.

        “Changed, you changed me?” Brizee asked.

        “No, baby, I didn’t, you came back on your own, the thought came up, Dr. Edwards said it was a way for you to wake up but I couldn’t without your permission and you had already said no, then Rochelle told us what you guys talked about before the accident, so I said if nothing changes after a year, I would do it,” Nick said. She looked at him.

        “Oh,” Brizee said.

        “But I’m glad I didn’t have to go against your wishes, that you came back on your own, I didn’t want to do it if you didn’t want me to, I was afraid that if I did it and you woke up, you would hate me and I couldn’t deal with that,” Nick said. She smiled and brought his hand up and kissed it.

        “And I’m glad you didn’t,” Brizee said.

        “I love you more than anything in the world, I couldn’t stand the thought of losing you,” Nick said. He sat on the bed and leaned down and kissed her lips softly.

        “You can kiss better than that,” Brizee said.

        “I know, but you just woke up and I want you to take it easy, you need to get your strength back, you’ve been in this bed for six months,” Nick said.

        “Em?” Brizee asked.

        “She’s in the other room with Rochelle,” Nick said.

        “I want to see her,” Brizee said. He smiled.

        “Guys, she’s awake!” Nick yelled downstairs. Rochelle brought Emily in.

        “Welcome back, Briz,” Rochelle said.

        “Thanks, there’s my girl,” Brizee said. Rochelle laid Emily in Brizee’s arms and Brizee hugged Emily close. Emily held onto her mother. Nick smiled. He moved beside Brizee and held his girls close to him.

Three months later, Brizee was back to normal. She and the girls were hanging out at Brian and Leighanne’s house while the guys were in the studio.  The kids were asleep.

        “Girls, I was thinking,” Leighanne said.

        “About what,” Leigh said.

        “Letting Brian change me,” Leighanne said.

        “What,” Leigh said.

        “Leighanne, I thought we all agreed not to change so we can continue having babies,” Kristin said.

        “Baylee is a handful and Brian seems content with just him,” Leighanne said.

        “Have you guys talked about more kids?” Leigh asked.

        “Not really,” Leighanne said.

        “Leighanne, I don’t think it’s a good idea, being one of them is not all it’s cracked up to be,” Rochelle said.

        “But think about it, never grow old, spend forever with them,” Leighanne said.

        “Out live our kids,” Brizee said.

        “Oh, boy, that, okay, never mind,” Leighanne said.

        “I can’t even think of what we are going to tell them when we get old but their father doesn’t,” Brizee said.

        “And I can’t even imagine how the kids will take their father faking his death,” Leigh said.

        “Okay, forgot my thought, no changing for any of us that are still human,” Leighanne said.

That night, Brizee was home in bed when Nick came in. He smiled and got into bed and hugged her.

        “Hey baby,” Brizee said.

        “I missed you so much,” Nick said kissing her.

        “I missed you, too, you guys get a lot done?” Brizee said.

        “Oh yeah,” Nick said.

        “Leighanne was talking today, she was thinking of letting Brian change her,” Brizee said.

        “What,” Nick said sitting back.

        “But after we talked about everything, she changed her mind,” Brizee said.

        “Like what,” Nick said.

        “The thought of outliving Baylee, Emily, James, and Mason,” Brizee said.

        “I know you won’t change yours and I’m glad, I love you the way you are,” Nick said kissing her softly. He laid her down and leaned over her.

        “I love you,” Brizee said.

        “I love you, too, and I want to show you how much,” Nick said. He removed their clothes and slid a condom on and he gently made love to her. Soon after, she felt asleep as he held her close to him. He sensed something and got up and got dressed and went downstairs and found Brian on the couch.

        “Frick,” Nick said.

        “I hope I didn’t wake Briz,” Brian said.

        “No, you were quiet, she’s asleep,” Nick said sitting down.

        “I guess you know about today, the girls,” Brian said.

        “Their talk, yeah, Briz told me,” Nick said.

        “Leighanne and I had a fight,” Brian said.

        “Go make up,” Nick said.

        “I don’t know,” Brian said.

        “Brian, she just thought about it, told the girls, they all talked about it and made some points on why they won’t change, Briz and I want more kids and she can’t have them if she’s one of us, don’t you want more kids, or do you want Baylee to be an only child,” Nick said.

        “More kids,” Brian said.

        “There you go, talk to her,” Nick said. Brian nodded and shook hands with him and went home. Nick locked up and went upstairs and saw Brizee asleep. He went to Emily’s bedroom and saw her sleeping. He kissed her forehead and went back to the bedroom and got into bed with Brizee and laid there watching her sleep. The next morning, Brizee woke up and saw Nick smiling at her. She smiled and cuddled up to him.

        “Morning baby,” Nick said.

        “Morning,” Brizee said. He kissed her and he removed his clothes and slid a condom on and he made love to her.

        “Baby, how about seeing about another baby?” Nick asked.

        “The girls and I have an appointment tomorrow,” Brizee said. He smiled and kissed her.

The next day, the girls went to the doctor to see about getting pregnant again. They all made appointments for the procedure, They came back the next day and each had it done. They went home. Brizee walked into the house and saw Nick playing with Emily. He looked up and smiled.

        “Get it done?” Nick asked.

        “Yeah,” Brizee said. He smiled.

That night, they laid in bed. He put his hand on her stomach and smiled and looked at her.

        “It worked?” Brizee said.

        “Yup, another baby, a sibling for Emily, I want to at least have four kids total,” Nick said.

        “How about five?” Brizee asked.

        “Or five, no more than that,” Nick said kissing her forehead.

Nine months later, Brizee gave birth to a healthy baby boy. They named him Jason.  Nick brought them home and Brizee laid Jason in his crib.

        “Go rest and I’ll hang with our little guy,” Nick said. She went to sleep.

The next day, they heard that Leighanne, Leigh, and Kristin all gave birth to their babies. Leighanne had a baby girl named Elizabeth. Leigh had another boy named Holden. Kristin also had a boy named Maxwell.  Brizee talked on the phone with the girls and they all made plans to meet up once they were rested up. Brizee sat in the nursery holding Jason in her arms. Nick came in with Emily and knelt down beside them.

        “I’m so happy,” Brizee said.

        “So am I,” Nick said.

Ten years later, Brizee and Nick had five kids total as did the rest of the gang. Emily came in with Jason and Hayley. Brizee was putting Gracie down for a nap while Nick was getting Nathan down for a nap. 

        “Hey,” Nick said quietly as he settled Nathan in his bed.

        “Mom, Dad, we need to talk,” Emily said. Brizee and Nick got Nathan and Gracie settled and went downstairs with them and they sat in the living room.

        “What’s up,” Nick said.

        “We know, Dad, the truth about you and the guys,” Emily said. Nick looked at Brizee.

        “What do you mean?” Nick asked.

        “That you are a vampire, that you will never die and outlive us all, I may be only ten but I’m not stupid, the kids at school know all about you guys,” Emily said.

        “Mom,” Jason said.

        “What, Jas?” Brizee asked.

        “Are you one of them, too?” Emily asked.

        “No, I’m not, when I found out, your dad asked me if he could change me, I said no, he can’t do it unless I want it, he can’t change anyone without their permission,” Brizee said.

        “So if we wanted it,” Emily said.

        “I will not do it,” Nick said.

        “Dad,” Emily said.

        “No, Emily, I will not let you guys change, I want you all to grow up and have normal lives,  to live and be free and not have to worry about anything,” Nick said.

        “The girls and I made the choice of staying human,” Brizee said. Emily hugged her mother.

        “Your dad can’t hurt you guys, they hunt animals, not people,” Brizee said.

        “Animals?” Jason asked.

        “Yeah, we didn’t want to hurt humans so we trained ourselves to hunt animals, mostly predator animals like mountain lions, cougars, coyotes,” Nick said.

        “So it’s just you guys that are different,” Jason said.

        “Rochelle changed, she’s one of them,” Brizee said.

        “But you said you and the girls didn’t want to,” Emily said.

        “There was no choice, the girls and I can’t get pregnant by the guys, if we did, we would not survive the delivery, Rochelle and AJ were not careful one night and she ended up pregnant with his baby, Jerald said the only way she would survive after the baby was born was if AJ changed her, she knew she had no choice, she didn’t want to die, so when she had Ava, AJ changed her and trained her to hunt animals,” Brizee said.

        “So Dad would have had to change you if you gotten pregnant with his baby,” Emily said.

        “Yes, because I can’t live without her,” Nick said.

        “But you will, she’ll die and you will still be here and not age!” Emily said.

        “It was my choice, Em,” Brizee said.

        “Your mother made that choice, and I have to accept it,” Nick said. They hugged their parents and went upstairs. Brizee looked at Nick.

        “I can’t believe this, I knew we couldn’t hide the truth from them,” Brizee said.

        “They were bound to find out,” Nick said. Brizee leaned against him.

        “I love you, so much,” Brizee said.

        “I love you, too, baby,” Nick said. The phone rang. Brizee picked it up.

        “Hello,” Brizee said.

        “Briz, meeting at my house,” Leighanne said.

        “Okay,” Brizee said.

        “Just us girls, Brian and the kids are coming over,” Leighanne said. 

        “Okay, see you,” Brizee said. She kissed Nick and told him and left.  Jason came downstairs.

        “Where’s Mom?” Jason asked.

        “Over to Uncle Brian’s, he’s coming over with Baylee, Lizzie, Amy, Harry, and Jack,” Nick said. Jason sat with his dad.

        “We have to accept the way things are, Dad, can’t change things, we love you no matter what,” Jason said.

        “And I love you, too, all of you, and I would never let anything or anyone hurt you,” Nick said. Jason hugged his dad and went back upstairs. Brian came in with the kids.  They went upstairs as Brian sat with Nick.

        “Kids know?” Brian asked.

        “Yeah, found out at school,” Nick said.

        “All of them did,” Brian said.

        “Couldn’t hide the truth forever,” Nick said.

        “I know, but the kids still love us,” Brian said.

        “Yeah, they do,” Nick said.

Brizee arrived at Brian and Leighanne’s house and walked in and saw Kristin, Leigh, and Rochelle there with Leighanne. She sat down and looked at them.

        “What’s up,” Brizee said.

        “You know the kids found out at school today,” Leighanne said. The girls nodded.

        “Ava said it’s all over the high school as well, I can only imagine what the parents are thinking,” Rochelle said.

        “We will have to hold a parent meeting at the school,” Leigh said. They nodded.

        “I know this topic has come up before but now that we each have five kids and no plans for more, I say it’s time to live forever with our guys,” Leighanne said.

        “You mean let them change us,” Leigh said.

        “Yeah, I mean can we really go on and let them outlive us and find other girls after we are gone,” Leighanne said.

        “Girls, we made the choice, the guys are glad we did,” Kristin said.

        “But that was before we had more kids and that’s the reason why they were happy, now we each have five kids and no plans for more, I say we become one of them and live forever with our guys, if you girls won’t, that’s fine but I want to live with Brian forever and always, I want him to change me,” Leighanne said.

        “Do you really want to outlive your kids,” Leigh said.

        “Brian will, so why can’t I,” Leighanne said.

        “Have you talked to him about this,” Kristin said.

        “No, I wanted to talk to you all first,” Leighanne said.

        “Leighanne, it’s not going to be the same, you will miss a lot of things like real food, all you will want is blood, I would give anything to have pizza, a cheeseburger, any real food,” Rochelle said. Leighanne looked at her.

        “All I want is to be with Brian,” Leighanne said.

        “We can’t change your mind, huh,” Leigh said.

        “I’m sorry, ladies,” Leighanne said.

        “Well, then, nothing we can do, we won’t change our minds,” Brizee said.

        “We agree with Brizee,” Leigh and Kristin said. They left. Brizee went home and saw Nick and Brian watching TV.

        “Briz,” Brian said.

        “I can’t be friends with your wife anymore, Brian,” Brizee said sitting down beside Nick.

        “Why,” Brian asked.

        “Go talk to her,” Brizee said. Brian looked at her.

        “Oh god,” Brian said.

        “What,” Nick said.

        “She wants me to change her,” Brian said.

        “She wants to live forever with you,” Brizee said.

        “Tell the kids they can spend the night,” Brian said as he went out the door. Brizee looked at Nick.

        “She won’t change her mind,” Nick said.

        “No, she wants to be one of you, Ro tried to change her mind,” Brizee said.

        “I don’t know, I mean, there is the thought of being with you forever, but then there is the thought of outliving the kids,” Brizee said. Nick kissed her forehead.

        “I will support whatever decision you make,” Nick said.

        “I know,” Brizee said. Baylee came downstairs with Jason.

        “Where’s Dad,” Baylee said.

        “He went home to talk to your mother, he said you guys can spend the night,” Nick said. Baylee nodded and they went back upstairs. Nick held Brizee close. He sat up.

        “Nick?” Brizee asked. He looked at her.

        “He changed her, she’s one of us,” Nick said.

        “Oh,” Brizee said. Rochelle, AJ, Kevin, Kristin, Howie, and Leigh came in.

        “He did it,” Nick said.

        “There was a reason,” AJ said.

        “What’s that,” Brizee said.

        “What she told me after you, Leigh, and Kristin left,” Rochelle said.

        “What,” Leigh said.

        “She found out she had breast cancer and that she only had months left, she didn’t want to die and leave her kids,” Rochelle said. Brizee nodded.

        “The kids need to stay away for awhile, until she’s able to control herself around them,” Kevin said.

        “They can stay here,” Nick said.

        “We all are staying, we sent our kids to Mom’s house in Kentucky,” Kevin said.

        “And Ava is with my mom,” AJ said.

        “Our kids are with Paula and Pollyanna,” Leigh said.

        “Let’s hope she can control herself,” Brizee said.

        “Brian took her to the island for training,” Howie said.

        “Which shouldn’t be long, it didn’t take me long to get trained,” Rochelle said.

Three days later, Brian and Leighanne arrived at the house. Nick, Howie, and Kevin stood in front of their wives. AJ and Rochelle stood at the stairs.

        “I’m okay, guys, I’m trained, I’m not going to hurt anyone,” Leighanne said.

        “Why couldn’t you tell us the real reason,” Brizee said.

        “I’m sorry, I just couldn’t,” Leighanne said.

        “Leighanne, you could have told us, we would have understood,” Leigh said.

        “I’m sorry, girls,” Leighanne said.

        “Let’s go out back and talk, girls,” Rochelle said. They went out and sat down.

        “How do you feel?” Leigh asked.

        “I feel great, no worries about dying and leaving my kids,” Leighanne said.

        “Leigh, Kristin, let’s make a pact right now, if something happens like we get diagnosed with cancer, we are honest with each other,” Brizee said.

        “It’s a deal, girls, we should not hide things from each other,” Leigh said.

That night after everyone went home and the kids were asleep in their bed. Nick came in and closed the door and locked it and got into bed with Brizee.

        “You okay, baby,” Nick said holding her close.

        “I’m fine, just thinking,” Brizee said.

        “About what, baby,” Nick said.

        “I want you to do something for me,” Brizee said.

        “Change you?” Nick asked.

        “Yes, only if it comes down to me dying, if I’m to the point of dying from cancer or car accident, you have my permission to change me then, because the thought of leaving you and our kids, I can’t do that, I can’t leave you and the kids, I can’t be without you all, you guys are everything to me,” Brizee said.

        “And you are everything to me and I can’t bear to be without you or our kids,” Nick said. He kissed her deeply.

        “Make love to me, Nicky, please, I need you,” Brizee said. He removed their clothes and slid a condom on and he gently made love to her. He laid beside her and held her close. He went to the bathroom and came back and got into bed with her and held her as she slept. He sensed something and looked at his wife and felt her stomach. He woke her up.

        “Nick,” Brizee said.

        “It didn’t work,” Nick said.

        “What,” Brizee said.

        “The condom didn’t work,” Nick said. He called Jerald who came over with Kevin and Kristin.

        “We need to remove it immediately,” Jerald said.

Three hours later, Jerald and Kevin left. Brizee was asleep. Nick stood at the window.

        “Nicky,” Brizee said waking up. Nick came over and sat down and held her hand.

        “That was a close call, if I didn’t have that ability to tell when you are pregnant, I would have to do the same as AJ did to Ro,” Nick said.

        “Nick,” Brizee said.

        “We can’t make love anymore,” Nick said.

        “Yes, we can, I’ll go on the pill,” Brizee said.

        “You will?” Nick asked.

        “I should have went on it as soon as I had Nathan,” Brizee said. Nick kissed her hand.

        “Go to the doctor in a couple of weeks, you should be completely healed by then,” Nick said.

        “Tomorrow, I’ll see Dr. Edwards since he knows,” Brizee said. Nick nodded.

The next day, Brizee went to the doctor and got on the pill and began taking them and a couple of months later, Nick and Brizee were back to making love without having to worry about her getting pregnant.

        “Jerald said the pills will work, that I don’t have to use a condom anymore,” Nick said.

        “Good because I love the feeling of you inside me,” Brizee said. He smiled and made love to her again. The phone rang. Nick grabbed it.

        “Yeah, what, Kev, oh no, okay, bye,” Nick said. He hung up.

        “Nicky,” Brizee said.

        “Leigh and Kristin are pregnant again, with Howie’s baby and Kevin’s baby, you know what that means,” Nick said.

        “Oh no, it’s too late for them?” Brizee asked.

        “Afraid so, they will have to change once they give birth which means you will be the only one,” Nick said. Brizee nodded and cuddled up to them.

Two months later, Leigh and Kristin gave birth and Howie and Kevin changed them. Nick kept Brizee away from them until they could be trained well. Brizee stood at the window at their house in Marathon. Nick stood behind her and held her.

        “I’m all alone,” Brizee said.

        “No, you aren’t, all the kids,” Nick said. She turned and went into his arms and he held her close.

        “I love you so much,” Brizee said.

        “I love you, too, baby,” Nick said. She rested her head on his chest. He kissed her head.

        “Mom,” Jason said.

        “Yeah, honey,” Brizee said.

        “So everyone changed but you,” Jason said.

        “Yeah honey, they did,” Brizee said.

        “Jason,” Brizee said.

        “You would still be our mother, just different, we will love you no matter what,” Jason said as Emily and Hayley came downstairs with Nathan and Gracie.

That night, Brizee went for a walk on the beach. She stood there looking out at the ocean and thought about everything.  Nick came up to her and hugged her.

        “I was just thinking about everything,” Brizee said.

        “It’ll be okay, baby,” Nick said.

        “Yes, it will, because I want it, Nicky,” Brizee said.

        “What,” Nick said.

He called AJ and Rochelle and they came down and got the kids and left. He carried her upstairs to their bedroom and closed the door and locked it and he removed their clothes and they laid on the bed.

        “I’m sure, Nicky, make me one of you, make me yours forever, change me, please,” Brizee said. He began to kiss her and began to make love to her. He slid into her body and went slow and steady. He licked her neck and as he came around him, he sunk his teeth into her and sucked her blood to the point where she stopped moving. He sat up and cut his wrist and let a few drops fall on her lips and then as soon as she licked her lips, he held his wrist to her mouth and let her drink from him. He pulled back and watched her change to become of them. After the processs was done, he cleaned them up and laid beside her and she opened her eyes and looked at him.

        “Nicky,” Brizee said.

        “You are one of us now, you are like me now,” Nick said. She pulled him close and kissed him deeply.

        “I feel great, I’m starving,” Brizee said. He helped her get dressed and they went hunting. She went after a mountain lion and drank its blood. She sat up and looked at Nick.

        “You did it, baby, you went straight for animal blood instead of human blood,” Nick said.

        “I have a great teacher, I can’t imagine hurting a human,” Brizee said. Nick pulled her up and kissed her deeply tasting the blood from the animal. He moaned and kissed her deeply.

        “I have a feeling that the sex will be a whole lot better,” Brizee said.

        “Oh yeah, and don’t have to worry about the pills anymore,” Nick said. He sensed something.

        “The guys and girls are here,” Nick said. They went back to the house and saw Kevin, Kristin, Howie, Leigh, Brian, and Leighanne sitting in the living room.

        “AJ and Ro are watching the kids, so you changed too, Briz,” Brian said.

        “Yeah, I made the choice, I want it,” Brizee said.

        “She did good on her first hunt, got a mountain lion,” Nick said holding her close.

        “Briz, you were so against changing, now you are one of us,” Leighanne said.

        “And your point is?” Brizee asked.

        “You didn’t want to change,” Leighanne said.

        “I changed my mind, I went for a walk and thought about everything and I realized what I wanted, to be with Nick forever and I made that choice, can’t change it now, it’s done,” Brizee said. Leighanne hugged her.

        “I’m glad, now we all are going to live forever and outlive our kids,” Leighanne said.

        “I think what got her thinking is what Emily and Jason said, that they would love her no matter what and they wouldn’t be mad if she changed,” Nick said.

        “That was it, Nicky, knowing that the kids would still love me was part of my reason for changing,” Brizee said.

Three months later, all the girls were trained and able to be around the kids full time. The kids were told the news and they accepted it.  Jason, Emily, Nathan, Hayley, and Gracie hugged their parents. Baylee, Lizzie, Harry, Jack, and Amy hugged their parents. Ava hugged her parents. Mason, Maxwell, Jerry, Jessica, Jaime and Kelly hugged their parents. James, Holden, Heather, Paul, Polly, and Amber hugged their parents. They all knew they would all be okay and be happy and they would all never be apart and be together forever and always.
