Nick arrived at the house of his best friend, Hayley. He went in and closed the door.

        “Hayley!” Nick called. He searched the house and went upstairs. He heard the shower going. He sat on her bed and waited. He heard the shower turn off and Hayley came out wrapped in a towel and saw him.

        “Hey Nicky,” Hayley said getting out her clothes.

        “Hey, want to hang out today?” Nick asked.

        “Sure,” Hayley said.  She smiled and sat in his lap.

        “Aren’t you going to get dressed?” Nick asked.

        “Why, I thought about staying like this, don’t you like my outfit?” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, it’s a towel, it is used to dry off from a shower, not an outfit,” Nick said.

        “Nicky, you aren’t any fun,” Hayley said moving to get off his lap but he kept her there.

        “But it makes you look sexy,” Nick said.

        “It does?” Hayley asked.

        “Yeah, you look great,” Nick said. Hayley smiled and kissed his forehead and went into the bathroom to change. Nick sat there and thought about everything. He looked down and took a deep breath. He hoped that Hayley didn’t notice that it had turned him on. His cell phone rang.

        “Yo,” Nick said.

        “Hey Kaos, has Brian called you?” AJ asked.

        “No, why,” Nick said.

        “Because he, Leighanne, and Baylee are at the hospital in Kentucky,” AJ said.

        “What happened?” Nick asked.

        “Baylee is really sick, they don’t know what’s wrong with him,” AJ said.

        “Oh man,” Nick said.

        “I’m heading up there with Howie and Leigh,” AJ said. Nick looked up and saw Hayley come out of the bathroom dressed.

        “I’m coming with ya, I’m at Hayley’s, I’m bringing her along since she’s Baylee’s godmother, we’ll meet you at the airport,” Nick said.

        “We got a flight out in an hour, I figured you two would be going so I got five tickets,” AJ said.

        “See you in a few,” Nick said. He hung up.

        “Nick, what’s going on,” Hayley said.

        “Baylee’s in the hospital up in Kentucky, Brian and Leighanne don’t know what’s wrong with him,” Nick said.

        “Oh god, let’s go!” Hayley said. She locked up and turned off everything and they went to the airport where AJ, Howie, and Leigh were waiting and they got on the flight to Kentucky.

Chapter 2

The plane landed in Lexington and they got a rental car and drove to the hospital. They went in and found Brian and his parents sitting in the waiting room.

        “Brian!” Nick said as they came up to them.

        “Frack,” Brian said getting up and hugging him.

        “We came as soon as we could, how is he?” AJ asked.

        “He has been diagnosed with Kawasaki disease, Leighanne is with him now,” Brian said.

        “Oh Brian,” Hayley said hugging him.

        “I’m glad you came, Hayley,” Brian said.

        “I’m Baylee’s godmother, where else would I be, can I see him?” Hayley said.

        “Sure, room 111,” Brian said. Hayley went to the room and saw Leighanne sitting by Baylee’s bedside.

        “Leighanne,” Hayley said. Leighanne got up and hugged her.

        “Thank you for coming,” Leighanne said.

        “He’s my godson, I wouldn’t be anywhere else,” Hayley said.

        “They are letting him go home today, told us what needs to be done,” Leighanne said.

        “I was wanting to talk to you alone anyways,” Hayley said. Leighanne nodded and looked at Baylee who was sleeping. They stepped outside the door into the hallway.

        “What’s wrong,” Leighane said.

        “I think Nick wants me, he came to my house while I was in the shower and I came out and he was sitting on my bed and I was wrapped in a towel, so I got my clothes and sat on his lap and he asked if I was going to get dressed and I said I could stay in the towel, he said that I looked sexy in it, and I felt that he was turned on but he never said anything else,” Hayley said.

        “Girl, you know how you feel, you constantly flirt with him, if he isn’t getting the message, you need to make it loud and clear,” Leighanne said.

        “I’m scared,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, if he was turned on by you sitting on his lap in a towel, he wants you as much as you want him,” Leighanne said.

        “I don’t want to ruin the friendship,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, you guys will always be friends, if you admit how you feel about each other, the friendship will be much stronger,” Leighanne said.

        “I hope you are right,” Hayley said.

        “I have a feeling that there will be double dates in the future,” Leighanne said. Hayley hugged her.

        “Give Baylee a kiss for me,” Hayley said.

         “I will,” Leighanne said. Hayley went back out to the waiting room where Brian, Jackie, Nick, Howie, AJ, and Leigh were. Nick got up and came over to her.

        “How’s Baylee,” Nick said.

        “He’s sleeping, Leighanne said he is going home today,” Hayley said.

        “Thank god,” Nick said.

        “Thank you, guys, for coming, it means a lot to us,” Brian said. Hayley hugged Brian.

        “We wanted to be here for you guys,” Hayley said.

        “Yeah, man, we are brothers, we will always be there for each other,” AJ said. Brian and AJ hugged. Brian hugged Howie and Nick. They did a group hug. Hayley hugged Jackie.

        “Thank you for coming,” Jackie said.

        “He’s my godson, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” Hayley said.

        “Baylee is lucky to have you as a godmother,” Jackie said. Hayley smiled.

        “I’m lucky to have him as a godson,” Hayley said. Hayley, Nick, Howie, Leigh, and AJ went to a hotel to check in. AJ called for a flight back to Florida.

        “Tomorrow at four,” AJ said.

        “Okay, that gives us time to sleep and check up on Baylee,” Hayley said.

        “Okay, they only have three rooms available,” Howie said coming over to them.

        “Well, me and Nick can share, and AJ can have his own room,” Hayley said.

        “Okay,” Nick said. They all went to their rooms. Nick and Hayley walked in and saw only one bed.

        “Oh dear,” Hayley said.

        “Come on, Hayley, it’s not like we haven’t slept in the same bed before,” Nick said.

        “I know,” Hayley said.  She went into the bathroom and closed the door. She got into the shower. She got out after she was done. She put on a robe and walked out of the bathroom and saw Nick sitting on the bed.

Epilogue

Halyey stood there and she went and sat down next to him. He looked at her and she looked at him.

        “You okay?” Hayley asked.

        “No,” Nick said.

        “What’s wrong,” Hayley said.

        “We need to talk,” Nick said.

        “Okay, what about?” Hayley asked.

        “Us, our friendship, we can’t be friends anymore,” Nick said.

        “What, why, what did I do wrong?” Hayley asked.

        “You didn’t do anything wrong, Hayley, you’ve been the bestest friend I could ever have,” Nick said.

        “Then what is going on, Nick, why do you not want to be friends anymore,” Hayley said. Nick stood up and faced away from her.

        “Because I’m in love with you, and I can’t ruin our friendship,” Nick said.

        “You are ruining it by saying we can’t be friends anymore, Nick, you don’t get it!” Hayley said. Nick turned around and saw her standing there.

        “Get what,” Nick said. Hayley grabbed his face and kissed him hungrily.  He pulled back and looked at her.

        “I feel the same way about you, Nick, always have, I was scared that our friendship wouldn’t be the same,” Hayley said.

        “Be my girl,” Nick said.

        “Always,” Hayley said. He kissed her deeply as he held her close. He laid her on the bed and laid beside her. She laid her head on his chest and smiled.

        “What are you smiling about?” Nick asked.

        “I knew being just friends wasn’t enough, we both wanted to be more, we both were too scared to confess, but now our friendship is much stronger,” Hayley said. Nick smiled and kissed her forehead and held her close. He knew they would never be apart.
