Hayley sat there looking at her father’s lawyer. Her father had died three weeks before and she was meeting with the lawyer about the will. Her father was president and CEO of Jive Records. Her brother, Adam, had inherited the job of president and CEO of Jive Records. Adam sat beside her.

        “So what did my dad say about my sister?” Adam asked.

        “According to the will, your father says that she will inherit one hundred million dollars at this time next year,” the lawyer said.

        “Next year?” Adam asked.

        “In order for her to inherit the money, she has to get married and have a baby by this time next year,” the lawyer said.

        “That’s impossible,” Hayley said.

        “If you are unable to complete the task, then not only will you not get the money, your family will lose everything, and Columbia Records will acquire Jive Records,” the lawyer said.

        “What, my father would not stand for that, he would turn over in his grave if we lost Jive Records, he built this company from the ground up,” Adam said.

        “So I’m suppose to marry some guy and get pregnant, some stranger,” Hayley said.

        “No, not just any guy, you are to get married and have a baby with Nick Carter,” the lawyer said. Hayley’s eyes widened.

        “Oh god, no,” Hayley said.

        “Her ex-boyfriend, she caught him kissing another woman, she broke up with him, now she’s suppose to go back to him,” Adam said.

        “It is what the will says,” the lawyer said. Hayley looked at Adam.

        “I can’t do it,” Hayley said.

        “Then your family loses everything,” the lawyer said. Hayley and Adam went home. Their mother came into the front hallway.

        “What did the lawyer say?” Laura asked.

        “Adam gets Jive Records, I have to get married and have a baby within a year, if I don’t, we lose everything,” Hayley said.

        “She has to go back to Nick, Mom, Dad wants her to marry Nick and have his baby,” Adam said. Hayley sat down.

        “I can’t do it, Mom, I just can’t,” Hayley said.

        “Honey, I know you don’t, but do you want us to lose everything,” Laura said.

        “Mom, he broke my heart,” Hayley said.

        “And he is the only one who can put it back together,” Laura said.

        “I just don’t know if I can, it’s been five years since we last saw each other. ” Hayley said. Laura hugged her daughter. Adam joined the hug.

Three days later, Adam was in his office when his secretary came in.

        “Hi Jan,” Adam said.

        “Nick Carter is here, he said you called,” Jan said.

        “Send him in,” Adam said. Jan nodded and went out. Nick came in.

        “Hi Adam, you called,” Nick said.

        “Hi Nick, thanks for coming,” Adam said.

        “I heard you are the bossman now,” Nick said.

        “Yeah, part of Dad’s will, I get Jive Records,” Adam said.

        “What does Hayley get?” Nick asked.

        “She wasn’t left out of the will,” Adam said.

        “How is she?” Nick asked.

        “She’s fine, she’s helping Mom pack Dad’s up for storage, it’s a little depressing to have it around the house,” Adam said.

        “Is she seeing anyone?” Nick asked.

        “No, I’m not,” Hayley said from the door. Nick turned and saw her. She came over to him.

        “Hayley,” Nick said.

        “I was going to see if you were available to get together and talk,” Hayley said.

        “Sure,” Nick said. They went to the beach. They sat down in a secluded spot.

        “I know it’s been five years since we last saw each other,” Hayley said.

        “You mean when you broke up with me and left me,” Nick said.

        “I saw you kissing that girl,” Hayley said.

        “It meant nothing,” Nick said.

        “I know that now,” Hayley said.

        “What do you want, Hayley,” Nick said.

        “My dad’s will states that I have to get back together with you, if I don’t, my family loses everything, the house, the money, and Columbia will take over Jive,” Hayley said.

        “Your father built Jive from the ground up,” Nick said.

        “I know,” Hayley said.

        “I will get back together with you, on two conditions,” Nick said.

        “Okay,” Hayley said.

        “One, you move in with me, and two, you back in my bed with me,” Nick said.

        “All right,” Hayley said. Nick looked at her.

        “You agreed easily,” Nick said.

        “My family means everything to me, I can’t let my family lose Jive,” Hayley said.

        “You are moving in tonight,” Nick said. Hayley nodded. They got up and went back to the office. They walked in and saw her mother and Adam.

        “Hi honey, hello Nick,” Laura said.

        “Hi Laura,” Nick said.

        “Mom, Adam, I’m moving out, I’m moving in with Nick,” Hayley said.

        “So soon?” Laura asked.

        “Yeah,” Hayley said.

That night, Hayley’s stuff was at Nick’s and she was unpacking some of her stuff in Nick’s bedroom. Nick came in and watched her.

        “You okay?” Nick asked.

        “Yeah, I’m fine,” Hayley said. He came over to her and brushed a piece of hair back from her face. She looked at him. He kissed her softly.

        “I have missed the touch of your lips against mine,” Nick said softly. He kissed her softly and then deepened the kiss. He held her close to him. They heard the doorbell ring. Nick groaned and slowly pulled away. He kissed her forehead and went downstairs and opened it and saw Brian and Leighanne.

        “Hey Nick, we got Leighanne’s mom watching Baylee tonight, we came to hang out with ya,” Brian said.

        “Well, I have company now, Frick,” Nick said.

        “Who?” Brian asked. Hayley came downstairs.

        “Hi guys,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, girl!” Leighanne said hugging her.

        “Hey Leighanne,” Hayley said.

        “I have missed you so much, come on, let’s catch up,” Leighanne said pulling her into the kitchen. Brian looked at Nick.

Chapter 2

Nick and Brian sat down on the couch and Nick quietly told him what was going on. Brian looked at him and nodded.

        “I hope you know what you are doing,” Brian said.

        “You know I still love her, man, you know I never got over her,” Nick said.

        “I know, man, just don’t screw it up this time,” Brian said.

        “I can’t, her family would lose everything if we break up, I know how much her family means to her, man, if I screw it up, we would be looking for a new record label,” Nick said.

        “I know, man, that’s why I said it,” Brian said. Leighanne and Hayley came in with drinks. Hayley sat down and handed Nick a glass of water.

        “Water?” Nick asked.

        “You’re out of pop, sorry,” Hayley said.

        “It’s okay,” Nick said taking a drink.

        “Hayley, it’s good to see you again, it’s great you two are back together,” Brian said.

        “Thanks, although I know Nick filled you in,” Hayley said.

        “Yeah, we support you both 100%,” Brian said.

        “Thanks,” Hayley said. Nick put his arm around her. She rested her head on his shoulder. Brian and Leighanne smiled. They talked for awhile and then Brian and Leighanne left. Nick locked up the house and they went upstairs. Hayley went and took a shower and came with a robe on. Nick went and took a shower. Hayley stood by the window. Nick came out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist. He saw her standing there and went over and stood behind her and hugged her from behind. She rested her head against him.

        “I’m glad we are back together, I’m never letting you go again,” Nick said.

        “I should have stayed with you, I shouldn’t have left,” Hayley said. Nick buried his face in her neck and nuzzled her neck.

        “That is in the past, Hayley, we are starting fresh, no more of the past, only the present and future,” Nick said. She looked up at him. He kissed her deeply. He slid his hands into her robe and felt her skin and he turned her in his arms and pulled her close. He kissed her deeply as he undid the sash of the robe and pushed the robe off of her and he reached down and removed his towel and moved them over to the bed and laid her on the bed with him on top and he felt her body against his. He pulled back and gazed into her eyes and saw lust and love in them. He reached over and opened the nightstand drawer and pulled out a silver package. She put her hand on his and he looked at her.

        “No, no condom, please, I want to feel you, all of you,” Hayley said. He looked at her.

        “Are you on the pill?” Nick asked. Hayley looked at him and shook her head.

        “Do you want to become pregnant?” Nick asked.

        “What if I do, would that be wrong?” Hayley asked.

        “Hayley, you told me before you never wanted kids,” Nick said.

        “That was five years ago,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, if I don’t put this on, it will be possible you will become pregnant, I’m not ready for kids yet,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him and nodded. He put it on and laid between her legs. He kissed her softly and he slowly and gently made love to her. Afterwards, they laid there holding each other. She rested her head on his chest and thought about everything. She realized that the plan to have Nick’s child was not going to be easy and she didn’t want to hurt him.

Two weeks went by. Nick and Hayley had gotten closer and they made love every night. Hayley sat in Adam’s office. The door was closed.

        “Hayley,” Adam said.

        “It’s not going to work, bro, Nick doesn’t want kids and we have made love every night and every night he wears protection, it’s hopeless, I’m sorry, bro,” Hayley said.

        “Sis, it’ll be okay, maybe somehow it will happen, condoms aren’t usually 100% effective,” Adam said.

        “I don’t care about the money anymore, bro, after spending two weeks with Nick, it makes me feel like giving everything up, I just want to be with him,” Hayley said. There was a knock at the door. Adam looked up as Nick came into the office.

        “There you are,” Nick said kissing her forehead.

        “I didn’t want to wake you up, I needed to talk to Adam about something, no biggie,” Hayley said. Nick sat down.

        “It’s okay, you left a note,” Nick said.

        “How’s it going, Nick,” Adam said.

        “Just great, I’m happy again,” Nick said kissing Hayley’s cheek.

        “You take good care of my sis, okay,” Adam said.

        “I will, Adam,” Nick said holding Hayley’s hand. The lawyer came in.

        “Just the two people I wanted to see,” the lawyer said.

        “Now is not a good time, Jack,” Adam said.

        “We were just leaving,” Hayley said pulling Nick up and out the door.

        “Hayley, hold on, why did you leave like that, he wanted to talk to you,” Nick said.

        “Adam can handle it,” Hayley said.

        “He wanted to talk to you both,” Nick said.

        “All right, I’ll meet you at home,” Hayley said. She kissed him hungrily.

        “Yes you will, and I will be waiting for you in bed,” Nick said. He kissed her deeply and got on the elevator. The doors closed and Hayley went back to Adam’s office.

        “Okay, so what is the reason you are here,” Hayley said closing the door.

        “Hayley, I misread the will, you have exactly nine months to have a kid,” the lawyer said.

        “What!” Hayley said.

        “Nine months is how long women carry the children, that is an impossible deadline,” Adam said. Hayley sat down.

        “I’m sorry, and you have three weeks to get married,” the lawyer said.

        “You should have read the will right the first time, my sister can’t get this done, those are impossible deadlines!” Adam said.

        “I’m sorry,” the lawyer said.

        “I’m having problems already, Nick doesn’t want kids yet, and I know he isn’t ready for marriage yet, why did my father do this to me!” Hayley said crying. Adam hugged his sister.

        “I’m sorry, it’s what the will says,” the lawyer said. He left.

An hour later, Hayley went home and looked around and went upstairs and saw Nick on the bed in his boxers, asleep. She slowly sat on the bed. He woke up and saw her.

        “Hey, what happened,” Nick said.

        “Nothing, he just wanted to make sure we understood the will,” Hayley said. She looked out the window.

        “Hayley,” Nick said. Hayley broke down crying. Nick sat up and moved over and took her in his arms and held her.

        “Shhh, what is it, baby,” Nick said.

        “It is just now sinking in that my father is gone, and going over wills and everything, I thought it was all a dream, I thought I would walk into my mother’s and see my father sitting in his favorite chair, but I won’t get to see that anymore,” Hayley said. She cried as Nick held her. He laid on the bed with her and kissed her softly. He removed her clothes and his and slid a condom on and made love to her.

        “Hayley,” Nick said as he laid on top of her. She looked at him.

        “Yeah,” Hayley said.

        “Marry me,” Nick said. She looked at him.

        “What,” Hayley said.

        “Marry me, I want to be with you forever,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

        “Are you sure about this,” Hayley said.

        “Yes, I want to marry you and make love with you every night,” Nick said.

        “Yes, I will,” Hayley said. He reached over and got a ring box. He opened it.

        “I got this five years ago, before we broke up,” Nick said. He slid the ring on her finger and kissed it. She looked at him.

        “I should have stayed,” Hayley said.

        “It’s over now, we are together now and we will be forever,” Nick said. He kissed her and made love to her again before they fell asleep holding each other.

Chapter 3

**The next day, Hayley and Nick went to her mother’s house. They heard yelling and walked in and saw her mother yelling at Jack.

        “I can’t believe you! My daughter is extremely upset about what the will said, there is no way she will be able to get married in three weeks and have a baby in nine months!” Laura said.

        “What!” Hayley said. Laura and Jack looked at them.

        “Oh no,” Laura said.

        “What the hell,” Nick said looking at Hayley.

        “Hayley,” Laura said.

        “I’m sorry, but it’s what the will says,” Jack said.

        “Screw the will, I told you I can’t do it and I meant it, you better figure out something, I will not be forced to do what it says, it does not control my life,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, if you don’t, your family loses everything,” Jack said.

        “How do we know what you saying is true, not once have you let us look at it,” Hayley said.

        “I have been your father’s lawyer since before you and your brother were born,” Jack said.

        “So what!” Hayley said.

        “I can’t believe this,” Nick said.

        “Nick, I’m sorry, I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want to go through with it,” Hayley said.

        “I don’t care, Hayley, you should have told me the truth, we are over!” Nick said taking the ring off her finger and going out the door. Hayley stood there crying. Laura hugged her daughter as she broke down crying.**

        “No don’t go!” Hayley cried sitting up. She looked around and saw she was in Nick’s bedroom. Nick sat up beside her and put his hand on her back.

        “Hayley,” Nick said. She fell into his arms and held onto him.

        “Don’t ever leave me, please!” Hayley said.

        “I won’t, baby, I promise,” Nick said. She got up and got dressed. Nick got dressed.

        “I have to tell you the truth, Nick, I have to tell you everything,” Hayley said. The phone rang.

        “Hello, hey Brian, what, okay, I’ll be right there,” Nick said. He hung up.

        “I’m sorry, honey, Brian wants me and the guys over for a meeting, I’ll be back,” Nick said.

        “Nick, wait,” Hayley said.

        “I got to go, honey, I’ll be back and we can talk then,” Nick said. He kissed her hungrily and left. She called Leighanne and asked her to come over. Ten minutes later, Leighanne came in.

        “Girl, what’s wrong,” Leighanne said. Hayley told her everything. Leighanne sat there in shock.

        “Your father wanted you with Nick, he wants you to marry Nick before three weeks is up and have a baby now,” Leighanne said.

        “I have three weeks to marry Nick and nine months to have Nick’s baby, starting yesterday, Nick and I have made love and he already wears a condom, if I don’t do what the will says, my family will lose everything, I want to tell Nick the truth, I had a dream that he found out and left me, I have to be honest with him,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, he might still leave you, Brian and I want you two together, but you know Nick doesn’t like to be forced to do stuff,” Leighanne said.

        “I don’t know what to do, Leighanne, if I don’t do what the will says, my family loses everything and Jive will belong to Columbia Records, if we lose Jive, we are letting my father down,” Hayley said.

        “I won’t tell anyone, okay, just see what happens,” Leighanne said.

        “It’s past time for me to be able to have a baby with Nick, if I wait any longer, I won’t have the baby before the deadline and everything will be gone,” Hayley said. Leighanne smiled.

        “I have a plan,” Leighanne said. She told Hayley the plan. That night, Nick came home and found Hayley lying on the bed in her bra and panties. He smiled and closed the door and got on the bed and got on top of her.

        “Hey baby,” Nick said. Hayley smiled and he kissed her deeply.

        “Hey yourself, Leighanne and I went shopping today and I got something,” Hayley said.

        “What,” Nick said.

        “Tonight, I want to feel you inside of me, no condoms,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, we talked about this,” Nick said.

        “Nick, it’s okay, I got a diaphragm,” Hayley said. Nick looked at her.

        “You got one of those things, are you okay with that,” Nick said.

        “You said you weren’t ready for kids, I don’t want you feeling restricted in those condoms so I thought I would help you out by going a different way for protection, next week, I’m starting birth control pills,” Hayley said. Nick smiled and kissed her deeply.

        “I can’t wait anymore, we are getting married as soon as we can, I want you forever,” Nick said. He removed her bra and panties and his clothes and he made love to her. He laid on top of her and kissed her deeply.

        “Tomorrow, we are getting married tomorrow and going to the Bahamas,” Nick said.

        “If you are sure, I’m willing to wait awhile, maybe plan a wedding,” Hayley said.

        “No waiting for me, I have been waiting five years to marry you, I am not waiting anymore,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

        “In a hurry?” Hayley said.

        “I want you as my wife, my everything,” Nick said. She looked at him.

        “Okay, what’s the catch, you are hiding something, why the big hurry,” Hayley said.

        “The big hurry, is that I want you as my wife, I have been wanting you as my wife for over five years now and I don’t want to wait another day,” Nick said. He kissed her deeply.

        “I was hoping to plan a wedding, plan with my mom and Leighanne, there is no hurry, Nick, I’m not pregnant, I’m not leaving you,” Hayley said.

        “Baby, please, let’s get married tomorrow,” Nick said.

        “How’s four weeks sound,” Hayley said.

        “Tomorrow, please,” Nick said.

        “Four weeks,” Hayley said.

        “I can’t wait four weeks, it will be torture,” Nick said.

        “If you just want the honeymoon, we can have it every night until the wedding,” Hayley said.

        “I want to legally call you Mrs. Carter every night as I’m making sweet love to you,” Nick said.

        “Okay, you have lost your mind,” Hayley said. She got up and got dressed.

        “Hayley, please, I want us married tomorrow,” Nick said. She sighed and picked up the phone and called Leighanne.

        “Hello,” Leighanne said.

        “Hey Leighanne, guess what, Nick wants to get married tomorrow,” Hayley said.

        “Tomorrow, is he crazy?” Leighanne said.

        “I have no clue, I said four weeks, he says tomorrow, he wants to be married tomorrow, he can’t wait four weeks,” Hayley said. Nick got up and hugged her from behind and nibbled her earlobe.

        “Well, I know you wanted to plan a wedding,” Leighanne said.

        “Yeah, I know, what is going on, do you know?” Hayley asked.

        “No, I didn’t say anything to him or Brian or anyone, Brian said they talked about you two getting married and he told them that he wanted to marry you as soon as possible,” Leighanne said.

        “Well, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow, bye,” Hayley said. She hung up and turned in Nick’s arms.

        “I guess we’ll get married tomorrow,” Hayley said. Nick smiled and kissed her deeply. The phone rang. Hayley picked it up.

        “Hello,” Hayley said.

        “Sis, bad news, Nick knows everything,” Adam said.

        “What,” Hayley said looking at Nick.

        “Yeah, Jack called and said that Nick came into the office and demanded Dad’s will and he paid Jack big bucks to look at it, he read it, sis, he knows what Dad wanted,” Adam said.

        “I’ll see you later, bye,” Hayley said. She hung up the phone and looked at Nick.

Chapter 4

Hayley stood there looking at Nick as he looked at her. She walked over to him and took the ring off and handed it to him. He looked at her.

        “Hayley,” Nick said.

        “That was Adam, he told me that you went to the lawyer’s office and saw the will and saw what my dad wanted me to do, that is why you were in a hurry to marry me, you were trying to get me to confess, newsflash, I was going to tell you on my own, you didn’t have to snoop, I didn’t want to go by the rules, I didn’t want to be forced into marriage by some stupid clause, I wanted to marry you my own way with no time limit, as for the child clause, I told the lawyer to screw that, that wasn’t possible because you weren’t ready for kids and that was an impossible task, Adam is working on ways to make sure my family doesn’t lose Jive, instead of playing the cat and mouse game with me by trying to force the truth out of me, you should have just waited until I told you on my own,” Hayley said. She turned and started to walk away. Nick grabbed her arm and pulled her back to him and put the ring back on her finger.

        “I meant it when I said never leave me, I’m sorry for the way I did it, I knew you were hiding something from me, I’m sorry, baby, I love you, I do want to get married tomorrow and we can get to work on trying for kids, I don’t want your family to lose everything,” Nick said.

        “I don’t want to force you to do anything, Nick,” Hayley said. Nick kissed her hungrily.

        “I want to be with you forever, Hayley, I have waited five years for you to come back to me, I am not waiting any longer for you, I want to marry you tomorrow and have a family with you, I want to be with you forever and always, I’m serious about this, baby, I love you, I always have and I always will,” Nick said.

Hayley woke up and sat up and looked around and saw Nick still asleep. She turned on her side and laid there thinking about her dream. She looked at her ring on her finger and the bed moved and Nick’s arms came around her as he spooned up behind her. He kissed her shoulder.

        “Morning, beautiful,” Nick said.

        “Morning,” Hayley said. She turned her head and he kissed her deeply. She felt him against her and he turned her over and got on top of her and laid between her legs and pushed deep inside her. They moved together as he clasped her hands with his and went faster and harder. He came inside her, spilling his seed deep inside her body. He collapsed on top of her and buried his face in her neck. She held him close.

        “I forgot protection,” Nick said.

        “I know,” Hayley said.

        “I’m sorry,” Nick said.

        “It’s okay, Nick, maybe nothing will happen,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, do you want to become pregnant,” Nick said.

        “Nick, calm down, okay, if it happens, it happens, I know you aren’t ready for kids and I’m okay with that, I love you, Nick, I just want to be with you forever,” Hayley said cupping his cheek. Nick kissed her deeply.

        “If you get pregnant, you get pregnant, I know I want you forever,” Nick said.

        “So when do you want to get married?” Hayley asked.

        “Tomorrow, if possible, I have been waiting five years, I am not waiting any longer for you to become my wife,” Nick said. Hayley stroked his cheek.

        “I want you to be happy, Nick,” Hayley said.

        “I am happy, with you, I am so glad you came back to me, I was so lost,” Nick said.

        “I’m here and I’m not leaving you,” Hayley said.

The next day, Hayley and Nick went to the courthouse and got a marriage license. They were waiting for the justice of the peace when Brian, Leighanne, Howie, AJ, Adam, and Laura showed up.

        “Honey,” Laura said hugging her.

        “Thanks for coming,” Hayley said.

        “My daughter is getting married, I have to be here, and I know your father would want to be here,” Laura said.

        “I know,” Hayley said.

        “Are you sure about this?” Laura asked.

        “Yes, I love him, Mama, I want to be with him forever,” Hayley said. Adam went to Nick.

        “Nick, you treat my sis good,” Adam said shaking his hand.

        “I love her, Adam, I never want to be without her,” Nick said. The justice of the peace came in and they all gathered in the office and Hayley and Nick were married. After the ceremony, they went to Laura’s house. The staff prepared food and dessert. Hayley saw Jack and got Adam and Laura and went into the study and closed the door.

        “Okay, Jack, Nick and I are married now, so write that down,” Hayley said quietly.

        “I did, now it’s up to you to get the other part taken care of,” Jack said quietly.

        “I’m working on it, okay, I’m not letting my family lose everything,” Hayley said quietly. She went out and found Nick and put her hand in his.

        “Hey baby, where did you go?” Nick asked.

        “A little meeting with the lawyer, with my mom and Adam, final touches on my dad’s will, let’s get out of here,” Hayley said. They said bye and went home and locked up the house and went up to their room and collapsed on the bed, kissing. They removed each other’s clothes. Hayley reached over and grabbed a condom out and gave it to him. Nick took it and looked at it and threw it across the room.

        “We are married now, it doesn’t matter what happens,” Nick said.

        “Nick, you said you weren’t ready,” Hayley said.

        “I love you, and if you become pregnant, I will be happy, besides, it could have happened already, remember yesterday morning,” Nick said.

        “Nick, I don’t want you to regret anything,” Hayley said.

        “I won’t, baby, the more I think about it, the more I want kids, I want kids with you, a baby who was created by our love,” Nick said.

        “I do love you so much, Nick,” Hayley said.

        “I love you, too, now, let’s make love, all night long,” Nick said laying between her legs and he kissed her tenderly as he pushed himself deep inside her.

        “Plus I love this feeling of being inside you, with nothing between us, no barriers,” Nick said as he pulled out and thrusted back inside her body. They went fast and hard as he held her hips. He rolled them over so she was on top and she began riding him. He cried out as he came fast and deep inside her, spilling his love for her. She came around him and collapsed on top of him.

        “Oh god, baby, I love you so much,” Nick said.

        “I love you, too,” Hayley said. They laid there holding each other.

Adam and Laura explained the situation to Brian, Leighanne, Howie, and AJ. They looked at her.

        “So your husband wanted Hayley and Nick to get married in three weeks and have a baby nine months from now or your family will lose everything,” Brian said.

        “Yes, my husband thought up the impossible for Hayley,” Laura said.

        “She already made one deadline, got married, now it’s about a baby, she has said that would be impossible since Nick told her he wasn’t ready,” Adam said.

        “How could she go along with this?” AJ said.

        “Guys, I know her better than you all, she is my best friend, her family means everything to her, there is nothing she wouldn’t do for them, if I was in Hayley’s shoes, I would do the same thing,” Leighanne said.

        “If I had a choice, guys, I would do anything to keep my family from losing everything,” Howie said. AJ and Brian looked at each other.

        “That is true, I would do anything to help my mom,” AJ said.

        “Yeah,” Brian said.

        “Guys, we have to make sure everything goes the way it should, but Nick can’t know, he’ll probably leave her,” Adam said.

        “Nick loves her too much to leave her, he never got over her and spent the last five years wanting her back, he never was with another woman, he stayed single and away from clubs and other girls in hopes that Hayley would come back to him, he never gave up hope that she would,” Brian said. Howie and AJ nodded.

        “But still, Nick doesn’t like being played,” Leighanne said.

        “He’ll understand the reasons, he would do anything for his sibs,” Brian said.

        “I hope you are right, honey,” Leighanne said. Brian nodded and they all continued talking and made plans to help Hayley and Nick.

Chapter 5

Hayley and Nick laid in bed after making love for the third time. He laid behind her and was spooned up against her. She rubbed his arms.

        “You have worn me out,” Hayley said softly.

        “I couldn’t help it, you make me want you all the time, I just look at you and god I want you,” Nick said kissing her neck. She snuggled up to him and closed her eyes and fell asleep.

**The phone rang. Hayley reached over and picked it up.

        “Hello,” Hayley said.

        “Sis, it’s me, you and Nick better get over here now,” Adam said.

        “What’s going on?” Hayley asked.

        “You’ll find out,” Adam said. Hayley hung up.

        “Baby,” Nick said. She got up and got dressed.

        “Adam wants us to come to the house, he didn’t say why,” Hayley said. Nick got up and got dressed. They went to the house. They walked in holding hands.  They walked into the living room and Hayley looked up and saw her father standing there.

        “Oh my god, Daddy,” Hayley said.

        “Hi honey,” Steve said.

        “Dad decided to fake his death,” Adam said.

        “Why would you do that, put us through the pain,” Hayley said.

        “I thought I was doing the right thing,” Steve said.

        “You weren’t, Dad, we were in so much pain because you were gone, then there was your will, what, was it a test, to see if we pass the tests,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley,” Steve said.

        “No, Dad, you hurt us by pretending to be dead, you hurt Mom most of all,” Hayley said.

        “I know, Hayley,” Steve said.

        “No, Dad, you have no clue of the pain we went through, thinking you were dead, but one good thing came out of this mess, I’m back with Nick, I’m back where I belong, with Nick, he and I are married now, but I’m sure you were kept up to date by your wonderful lawyer,” Hayley said.

        “I wanted you back with him,” Steve said.

        “Well, I am, I love him,” Hayley said.

        “And I love her,” Nick said.

        “That’s why I sent my will the way it is,” Steve said.

        “Dad, why would you want Columbia Records to take over Jive?” Adam said.

        “Like Hayley said, it was a test, if you both did not pass, I was going to have Jack sell Jive to Columbia,” Steve said.

        “Dad, this company is your life,” Hayley said.

        “I know,” Steve said.

        “Nick, I want to go home,” Hayley said. They turned to leave.

        “How’s the baby thing coming?” Steve asked. Hayley turned and looked at her father.

        “What did you say?” Hayley asked.

        “How is the baby deal coming,” Steve said.

        “Why would you ask that, Dad, I have no clue what you are talking about, goodbye,” Hayley said going out the door and pulling Nick behind her. They went home. Hayley walked up to the bedroom and stood at the window and just stared out. Nick came in and stood behind her.

        “What was that about, Hayley, what baby deal?” Nick asked.

        “If I tell you, you’ll leave me and I couldn’t bear that,” Hayley said softly. Nick turned her to face him and cupped her face in his hands.

        “I love you and I lost you five years ago, I’m not losing you again,” Nick said. He sat down on the bed and pulled her into his lap.

        “Okay, I wasn’t entirely truthful when it came to the will, it did say to get back together with you, but the truth was, I was suppose to marry you within a three week time period, and in a nine month period, have your baby, if I didn’t do either, my family would lose everything, I only told you that we were just suppose to get back together because I didn’t want to be forced to get married by a clause and I didn’t want to be forced to have a baby by a clause, I wanted that to happen on its own, not by some will, but that doesn’t matter now since my father is alive and well, the will is null and void since the person who wrote it is still alive,” Hayley said. She got up and went to the window.

        “Hayley, we got married and it is possible that you will become pregnant since we stopped using protection,” Nick said.

        “I know, and I will be happy, because I am married to you, and I want a family and a life with you,” Hayley said. Nick came up behind her and hugged her.

        “That is what I want, too,” Nick said.

        “Please forgive me for not telling you the truth, I was scared that you would leave me and I can’t bear to be without you,” Hayley said.

        “You will never be without me, baby, we are together forever,” Nick said. He kissed her and hugged her close.**

Hayley woke up and sat up. Nick woke up and saw her sitting up and sat up and put his hand on her back. She looked at him.

        “Honey,” Nick said.

        “I dreamt that my father faked his death,” Hayley said. Nick pulled her in his arms.

        “Honey, it’s okay, it was just a dream,” Nick said nuzzling her neck. Hayley got up and got dressed and ran out the door and grabbed her keys and purse and ran out the door. She went to her mother’s and ran in and looked around.

        “Hayley, honey, are you okay?” Laura asked.

        “Mom, is dad really gone?” Hayley asked.

        “Yes, honey, he is, you know that,” Laura said.

        “Mom, tell me the truth, did Dad really die or did he fake his death,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, what has gotten into you,” Laura said.

        “Mom, please, tell me the truth,” Hayley said.

        “Honey, your father is gone, he’s dead, honey,” Laura said.

        “Oh god, Mom, you aren’t lying to me?” Hayley asked.

        “Honey, if your father was alive and faking his death, I would know about it, there was not one thing he would keep from me, he knew that I would be devastated if he lied to me and he never lied to me,” Laura said. Hayley sat down. Laura sat down.  They didn’t know Nick was listening.

        “I just felt like the will was a test, for me and Adam, to see if we actually have listened to him, to make sure we got with what he wanted,” Hayley said.

        “Honey, your father loved you both very much, Adam was his boy, you were his girl, he loved you both so much, you and Adam were his life, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for you or Adam,” Laura said.

        “But why would he ask me to do what he said in the will, marry Nick in three weeks time and have his baby in nine months time, those are impossible, I mean I am married to him but the baby thing is impossible, I can’t do it, Mama, we might lose everything because I failed, I’m not pregnant, I don’t want to be forced to have a child, Mom, I want it to happen when it’s the right time for us, not because of some stupid will clause,” Hayley said. Nick quietly left.

        “I will see what I can do, baby, maybe there is a way out of it, I will find it,” Laura said. Hayley hugged her mother and went home and found Nick gone. She sat on the couch. Brian and Leighanne came in and saw her. They sat down.

        “Hayley,” Leighanne said. She handed Hayley a letter. Hayley opened it and read it.

Hayley, I followed you to your mother’s and I heard everything. I can’t believe you couldn’t tell me the truth, you lied to me, I never thought you would lie to me, I can’t trust you again, I can’t be with you anymore, you have broken my heart. I am filing for a divorce. Nothing is going to change things, my mind is made up, I gave you everything and you couldn’t be honest with me. I was nothing but honest with you and you couldn’t tell me the truth, I’m sorry if your family will lose everything but you should have told me the truth. I can’t be married to someone who couldn’t trust me enough to handle the truth. Goodbye, Hayley.  Nick. 

Hayley put the letter down and leaned forward and covered her face with her hands and cried. Brian sat down and hugged her. She cried on his shoulder as Leighanne sat down and joined the hug.

        “You still have us as friends, Hayley, your mother told us everything, we will help you with anything you need,” Leighanne said. Hayley got up and looked around.

        “My marriage is over, my family will lose everything, I don’t know what to do, can you guys help me pack, I guess I better get out of this house,” Hayley said.  Brian and Leighanne nodded and they packed up all her stuff and put them in the cars and after everything was loaded up, Hayley stood there at the door. She put her key on the front table along with her rings and closed the door and got into her car and they went to her mother’s. She got some of her bags and went up to the door and her mother stood there. She looked at Hayley.

        “Oh dear,” Laura said.

        “It’s over, Mama,” Hayley said crying.

        “Nick heard everything, he followed Hayley here and heard your conversation,” Brian said. They unloaded the cars and put everything in her old room and she hugged Brian and Leighanne and they left. She went up to her room and unpacked everything and sat down on the bed. Laura came in and sat down beside her and hugged her. Hayley told her everything.

        “I’m sorry, Mama, I failed,” Hayley said. Adam came in and saw them.

        “What happened?” Adam asked.

        “Nick heard me and Hayley talking, he knows the truth about the will, he left Hayley and is filing for a divorce,” Laura said. Adam sat down and hugged them.

        “I found a way to keep Jive, Brian called me, he told me that everything is falling apart so he, Howie, AJ, and Kevin are going to pool together and buy out Jive and make sure we don’t lose everything, they will be the owners but I’m still in charge,” Adam said.

        “I’m sorry, Adam,” Hayley said. Adam kissed her forehead.

        “I love you, sis, no matter what, I will always be there for you,” Adam said.

Two weeks went by. Hayley received divorce papers and she read them. Jack was told of the changes and went to work on helping them maintain their property. Brian, Kevin, Howie, and AJ successfully bought out Jive and Jack made sure that no one would take over the company. Hayley found out that she was three weeks pregnant. She sat down at home and thought about everything. Laura came in and sat down beside her.

        “I’m pregnant, Mama, I’m three weeks along,” Hayley said.

        “Are you going to tell Nick?” Laura asked.

        “He wants nothing to do with me, one of the conditions of the divorce papers is that I can’t have any contact with him, in person or phone,” Hayley said.

        “I’ll tell him,” Laura said.

        “Mom, no, I’m better off raising this baby on my own,” Hayley said.

        “But what about the baby’s father?” Laura asked.

        “Didn’t you hear what I said?” Hayley said.

        “Honey, regardless of anything, Nick deserves to know that he is going to be a father,” Laura said. Hayley sighed and picked up the phone and called Leighanne and told her everything. She hung up and looked at her mother.

        “Brian and Leighanne are going to tell him,” Hayley said. She sat there with her hand on her stomach and closed her eyes and opened them and sat there.

Chapter 6

Brian and Leighanne went over to Nick’s house and walked in and saw him sitting on the couch watching TV.

        “Nick, we have something to tell you,” Brian said.

        “If it’s about Hayley, I don’t want to hear it, I want nothing to do with her,” Nick said.

        “How about your baby?” Brian asked.

        “What,” Nick said.

        “Hayley is pregnant, Nick, three weeks along,” Leighanne said. Nick sat there. He ran out the door and went to Hayley’s. He knocked on the door. Laura opened the door and saw him.

        “Nick, what are you doing here?” Laura asked.

        “Where is she?” Nick asked.

        “In her room, please don’t upset her anymore than she already is,” Laura said. He nodded and went upstairs. He knocked on Hayley’s door.

        “Come in,” Hayley said. Nick opened the door and walked in and saw her sitting by the window. She looked and saw him and looked back out the window.

        “Why are you here, I thought you wanted nothing to do with me, I’m not suppose to contact you,” Hayley said.

        “But we have a baby to think about now,” Nick said.

        “I’ll be fine on my own, you don’t need to worry about anything,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, stop this, okay, I want to be a father to this baby,” Nick said.

        “That means have something to do with me, Nick, can you handle that?” Hayley asked.

        “Yes, Hayley, I can, we can be friends and parents to our child,” Nick said.

        “Just not romantically,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, you could have told me the truth about the will, we could have handled it together, you didn’t need to hide anything from me,” Nick said.

        “I know, okay, I was scared and stupid,” Hayley said.

        “You aren’t stupid, Hayley, I don’t want to fight with you, okay, I will be there for you and the baby but we can’t be together anymore as a couple,” Nick said.

        “Thanks,” Hayley said.

        “What is wrong with you,” Nick said.

        “Nothing,” Hayley said.

        “Whatever, let me know when your first appointment is, or tell Brian and Leighanne to tell me, goodbye,” Nick said. He went out the door. Hayley stared out the window. Laura came in.

        “Hayley, honey, Nick wants to be there for you,” Laura said.

        “I know, Mama, it just hurts, it is not the way it should be,” Hayley said.

        “I know you love him, honey, you just got to take what you can get,” Laura said. Hayley nodded and hugged her.

Three months later, Hayley was four months along and Nick has been there every step of the way. Nick allowed her to move back into the house and she settled in one of the guest rooms. He also called off the divorce but told her that they weren’t back together. He told her that he called it off so that they will stay married for the baby’s sake. Nick and the guys were getting ready to go on tour of the US for four months. She had to stay home to help Adam with the company.

        “Are you sure you won’t come, Kevin said he’ll go help Adam,” Nick said.

        “I really want to stay close to my doctor in case something happens,” Hayley said patting her stomach.

        “There are plenty of doctors on the road,” Nick said.

        “I know that, maybe I’ll meet up with you guys after I see my doctor,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, I just don’t want to miss a second of the pregnancy,” Nick said.

        “All right, let me go pack,” Hayley said. She called her doctor and let her know what was going on and she packed some stuff and they headed out. They met the other guys at the bus and they hugged her. Leighanne hugged her and got on Brian’s bus. Hayley got on Nick’s bus. Nick got on with the bags.  The buses pulled out and they were on the road. Hayley laid down on the bed. Nick came in and sat down.

        “You okay, I’m sorry if I forced you to come with us,” Nick said.

        “It’s okay, Nick, I know you want to be there every second, I can understand,” Hayley said.

        “I’ll be up front if you need anything,” Nick said. He went up front. Hayley laid down and closed her eyes.

Chapter 7

(Author’s Note- Okay, I read through the entire story and decided to go a different way with this so it’s back to Chapter 1. I know it’s confusing but I don’t want to restart the story and delete what was written so far so that’s why I always put the author’s notes in before I make the changes so everyone would know what is going on.)

Hayley sat in her brother’s office with her brother as they waited for the lawyer to show up. Adam’s secretary, Jan, came in.

        “Sir, Jack called and said he would be late and the Backstreet Boys are here to see you,” Jan said. Hayley froze. She ran and hid under Adam’s desk and knew no one could see her from any other direction. Adam shook his head and sat down.

        “Send them in and no word about my sister being here, okay,” Adam said. Jan nodded and went out and Brian, Howie, AJ, and Nick came in.

        “Adam, how’s it going,” Brian said as they all shook hands.

        “Hey guys, what’s up,” Adam said.

        “Sorry about your dad, man, he was a good guy,” Howie said.

        “Yes he was, it’s hard on everyone losing him like that,” Adam said.

        “What exactly happened?” AJ asked.

        “Heart attack, he was heading out to his car at the house and just dropped, Docs said there was nothing that could have been done,” Adam said.

        “Who found him?” Nick asked.

        “Hayley found him,” Adam said.

        “How is she?” Nick asked.

        “Upset, devastated, on the verge of a total breakdown but my mom and I are there for her, our father’s death hit her the hardest,” Adam said.

        “Sorry to interrupt but Jack is here to go over the will with you and Hayley, when she gets here,” Jan said knowing Hayley was already in the room.

        “Thanks, Jan, guys, it’s been great seeing you but this is a meeting that needs to happen,” Adam said standing up. Laura came in with Jack behind her.

        “Hi guys,” Laura said.

        “Hi Mrs. Hardin,” Brian, Howie, AJ, and Nick said. Laura smiled and hugged Nick.

        “How are you, Nick?” Laura asked.

        “I’m okay, I guess, is Hayley with you?” Nick asked.

        “No, she came with Adam, she should be here somewhere,” Laura said.

        “Mom, she went shopping, she said she would be back later,” Adam said.

        “Call her, she needs to be here,” Laura said.

        “She’ll be back soon, she said she wouldn’t be more than an hour and that was forty-five minutes ago,” Adam said.

        “I’m calling her,” Laura said.

        “Guys, it’s been great, see ya,” Adam said. Brian, Howie, AJ, and Nick went out the door. He closed the door and locked it and Hayley came out from under the desk.

        “Hayley,” Laura said.

        “Hi Mom, I didn’t want Nick to see me right now,” Hayley said.

        “Let’s have the meeting,” Jack said. They sat down and Jack went over the will.

        “Okay, Adam, you get Jive, Laura gets the house,” Jack said.

        “What do I get?” Hayley asked.

        “Ten million dollars, but there is a stipulation, you won’t get the money unless you get back together with Nick Carter, marry him and have a baby with him within a year’s time,” Jack said.

        “What!” Hayley said.

        “That’s what it says,” Jack said. Laura read it and looked at Hayley.

        “He’s right,” Laura said.

        “I can’t get back with Nick, he cheated on me!” Hayley said.

        “Honey, that is what your father wanted,” Laura said. Hayley sat there.

        “Hayley, ten million dollars, don’t throw that away,” Adam said. Hayley looked at her brother and her mother and nodded.

The next day, Hayley slowly walked up to the door of Nick’s house. She couldn’t believe what she had to do but she couldn’t back out with the money at stake. If there wasn’t ten million dollars at risk, she would not be at Nick’s house. She rang the doorbell. The door opened and BJ stood there.

        “Hi BJ,” Hayley said. BJ smiled and hugged her.

        “Hayley, hi, I missed you!” BJ said.

        “Missed you, too,” Hayley said.

        “Nick isn’t home, he’s out hanging with Brian,” BJ said.

        “Oh okay, when he gets back, tell him that I need to see him, he can come to the house, bye,” Hayley said. She got into her car and went home and walked in and saw her mother sitting in the living room.

        “Well?” Laura asked.

        “He wasn’t home, BJ was there, I left a message with her to tell him to come here,” Hayley said. Laura nodded.

        “I’ll be out back by the pool,” Hayley said. She went and changed into her bikini and went out and sat down on a lounge chair and got her book and began reading. Fifteen minutes later, she heard the doorbell ring. She heard voices and continued reading. She saw a shadow and looked up and saw Nick standing there.

        “You wanted to see me,” Nick said.

        “Yeah, I did,” Hayley said. Nick sat down on the lounge chair beside hers.

        “Five years after our breakup, you wanted to see me, so what’s up,” Nick said.

        “Adam said you guys came by the office today,” Hayley said.

        “Yeah, we did,” Nick said.

        “I was there actually,” Hayley said.

        “I didn’t see you,” Nick said.

        “I was in Adam’s office, hiding under his desk, when Jan said you guys were there, I hid, I couldn’t face you,” Hayley said.  Nick looked at the bikini she was wearing.

        “Is that the bikini I got you?” Nick asked.

        “Yes, it is,” Hayley said.

        “I’m surprised you kept it,” Nick said.

        “It’s the only one I have,” Hayley said.

        “What about the necklace, earrings, and bracelet that I gave you,” Nick said.

        “Kept them, any pictures of you that I had are in a box under my bed,” Hayley said.

        “I know I hurt you, Hayley, I made a mistake, I know it was five years since you left me, but I never got over you, I still love you,” Nick said.

        “Nick, five years is a long time to get over the heartbreak, I realized that I will never find that one person who is my soulmate because I’m looking in the wrong direction, I know I already had my soulmate, and that’s you, and I realized that you are that one person I’ve been looking for, when I broke up with you, I didn’t know it, but now I do,” Hayley said.

        “Can we get back together, a fresh start, no more thinking of the past, only now and the future,” Nick said. Laura came out.

        “Hayley,” Laura said.

        “Yeah, Mom,” Hayley said.

        “I’m going to meet your brother for lunch, will you be okay?” Laura asked.

        “Yeah, I’ll be fine,” Hayley said. She nodded and waved to Nick and left. Hayley stood up and went around the chair and straddled Nick’s lap.

        “A fresh start, I think that can be arranged,” Hayley said. She kissed him deeply. He grabbed her bottom and pulled her closer and she felt him against her. Nick’s cell phone rang. He groaned and looked at it and answered it.

        “What,” Nick said.

“Yo Nick, I’m at your house, wanted to see if you wanted to hang out,” Brian said.

“I’m kinda busy right now, Frick, raincheck?” Nick asked.

“Nick, where are you?” Brian asked.

        “I’ll tell you later,” Nick said.

        “Nickolas!” Brian said.

        “I’m at Hayley’s, okay,” Nick said.

        “Are you two back together?” Brian asked.

        “Yes, we are,” Nick said stroking Hayley’s cheek. She rested her head on his shoulder and put her arms around him.

        “That’s great, I have to tell Leighanne, she’ll be thrilled! She really missed Hayley, awesome news, Frack,” Brian said.

        “Thanks, man, gotta go, bye,” Nick said. He hung up and kissed her neck.

        “Sorry about that,” Nick said turning off his phone and putting it in his pocket.

        “It’s okay,” Hayley said. She rested her head on his shoulder and played with the buttons on his shirt. He held her close.

        “You okay?” Nick said.

        “Yeah, I’m okay, I’m with you, in your arms, which I missed a lot, I should have stayed and we should have talked it out, wouldn’t have missed these past five years, we could have been married or something by now,” Hayley said.

        “There is something I have to tell you,” Nick said.

        “What is it, the girl got pregnant,” Hayley said.

        “No, the night you found out about that one night stand, I had went out with Brian and I bought a ring, I was going to ask you to marry me, I had it all planned out and I got home and you were gone and left a letter, I beat myself up for making that mistake of sleeping with that girl, because it cost me something more important to me than anything in the world, you, you’re my life, Hayley, and I will fight to keep you, I will not let anything tear us apart again, I love you, and I always will,” Nick said. Hayley kissed him deeply. They laid on the lounge chair and kissed and cuddled.

Chapter 8

Nick and Hayley laid there in the lounge chair. Nick nuzzled her neck. Hayley smiled and moved to lay on top of him.

        “I missed that,” Hayley said.

        “Me, too,” Nick said. She kissed him deeply.

        “Come in the pool with me,” Hayley said.

        “I don’t have any trunks,” Nick said.

        “I got a pair of yours,” Hayley said.

        “You took my trunks,” Nick said.

 “Just one pair, by accident,” Hayley said. She ran in and got them and brought them out. He looked at them and looked at her.

        “My favorite pair,” Nick said.

        “Sorry,” Hayley said. He went to change and came back and found her in the hot tub.

        “Hey,” Nick said getting in. She smiled and moved over to him and straddled him after he sat down. He smiled and grabbed her hips and pulled her close to him and kissed her deeply.  He began kissing her neck.  She smiled and held onto him.  He felt her hands go down and under his trunks and felt her fingers around him. He pulled back and looked at her.

        “Hayley,” Nick said. She removed her hands and wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him. He kissed her shoulder.

        “Let’s go to my house,” Nick said.

        “You don’t have a hot tub,” Hayley said.

        “Yes I do, I bought one,” Nick said. She smiled and they got out and got dressed and went to his house and he locked up the house and they went out back and she smiled when she saw the hot tub in a gazebo.

        “Secluded, too,” Hayley said. She took her shorts and top off and got into the tub. Nick took off his shirt and got in and she came over and straddled him. He kissed her hungrily.

        “Remember how much fun we had in the pool,” Nick said.

        “Yes, I do, we can have fun in a hot tub,” Hayley said. Nick smiled and kissed her neck. His hands slid up under her bikini top and caressed her breasts. He slid the bikini top up and captured a nipple in his mouth and sucked.  He licked it and continued sucking on it. Hayley held him to her and closed her eyes. He removed the top and pulled her close. He removed her bikini bottoms and removed his trunks and she felt him slide inside her. She closed her eyes and rested her head on his shoulder as they moved together. He held her close as he kissed her deeply. She cried out his name as she came around him. He cried out as he came, spilling himself inside her. They sat there holding each other as they breathed heavily.

        “Oh god, Nick,” Hayley said.

        “Yeah,” Nick said holding her close to him. She grabbed her suit and put it on and got out and ran inside. He put his trunks on and got out and went inside and found her in the bathroom.  She dried herself off and wrapped the towel around her.

        “Oh god, Nick, what have we done!” Hayley said.

        “We made love in the hot tub,” Nick said.

        “With no protection, Nick!” Hayley said. Nick looked at her.

        “You aren’t on birth control?” Nick asked.

        “No, not anymore, I had an allergic reaction to the pills so I can’t take them anymore,” Hayley said. Nick knelt in front of her.

        “Hey, if you end up pregnant, it’s okay, I won’t leave you,” Nick said. Hayley burst out crying.

        “I’m so sorry!” Hayley cried.

        “Hayley, it’s okay, you didn’t plan this,” Nick said.

        “My father did!” Hayley said crying.

        “Hayley, what are you talking about?” Nick asked.

        “My father’s will, he left Adam Jive, he left my mom the house, he left me ten million dollars,” Hayley said crying.

        “What does that have to do with a baby?” Nick asked.

        “I can’t have the money if I don’t get back together with you, marry you, and have your baby within a year’s time,” Hayley said crying. She ran out the door and went home. Nick sat there. He went and changed and went downstairs just as Brian and Leighanne came in.

        “Hey Frack, Leighanne came up with an idea of a double date, you, Hayley, me and Leighanne,” Brian said. Nick shook his head and sat down on the couch. 

        “Nick, what happened,” Leighanne said.

        “We came over here and we made love in the hot tub, no protection, she got upset, her father set it up, she will get ten million dollars if she gets back with me, marries me, and has my baby within a year,” Nick said.

        “Where is she?” Brian asked.

        “She went home, she was upset, crying, I couldn’t believe it, her father set it all up, if he had put that clause in the will, me and Hayley wouldn’t have been together in the first place, it felt so right, being with her,” Nick said.

        “Nick, go talk to her, she might have wanted you back for real,” Leighanne said.

        “I don’t know,” Nick said.

        “Nick, if you want her, go get her,” Brian said. Nick looked at him and sat there.

Chapter 9

Hayley laid on her bed and cried. She couldn’t believe she confessed all to Nick but knew it was best to be honest. She looked and saw the teddy bear that Nick gave her. She grabbed it and hugged it as she cried softly. She heard voices downstairs.

        “Hayley,” Laura said coming in. Hayley sat up and hugged her.

        “Oh god, Mama, I lost him for good this time!” Hayley asked. She told Laura everything.

        “I messed up, Mom!” Hayley said crying.

        “Honey, give it time, Nick might come around,” Laura said. Adam came in and saw her crying. Laura quietly told him what happened.

The next day, Hayley laid out in the lounge chair and stared at the pool. Adam came out and sat down. She looked at him.

        “I’m going to the office, will you be okay?” Adam asked.

        “Yeah,” Hayley said. Adam kissed her forehead.

        “Love you, sis,” Adam said.

        “Love you, too, bro,” Hayley said. He left. Hayley closed her eyes and fell asleep.  She woke up and saw she was out by the pool and sighed. She got up and went inside and went up to her room and laid on her bed. The doorbell rang. Hayley groaned and got up and went downstairs and opened the door and saw Nick standing there with his hands in his pockets.

        “Hey,” Nick said.

        “Hi,” Hayley said. He came in and she closed the door. She went up to her room and sat on the bed. He came in and sat down.

        “I need to know if you really wanted me back or just came back because of the will,” Nick said.

        “I didn’t want to do it at first, but my mom and Adam kept telling me that I can’t just throw away that amount of money, if it was less than ten million dollars, I wouldn’t have shown up at your door, but ten million dollars is a lot of money, my dad’s money, money he worked hard to get, I couldn’t throw that away, I couldn’t do that, if I threw away that money, my dad would have rolled over in his grave,” Hayley said.

        “Yeah, I bet,” Nick said. Hayley burst out crying and covered her face with her hands.

        “I’m sorry, Nick, I’m so sorry for everything, I’m sorry for what my dad put in the will, I guess he liked you and wanted you and me back together, he always thought of you as another son, he was so angry with me when I left you, I thought he was going to disown me, he almost did if my mother hadn’t of stopped him, from then on, he kept going on and on about why I screwed up and kept telling me to go back to you, I kept telling him that I couldn’t, that you hurt me by cheating, he wouldn’t give up, the morning that he died, we argued, it was so bad, he wanted me gone from his life, that he didn’t have a daughter, I told him that I didn’t want a father like him, he glared at me and walked out the door, I looked at my mother, she shook her head and I ran after him to apologize and that’s when I found him, I wish I could go back in time and change things, that I could take back what was said, but I can’t, my father is gone, because of me, because of what I said,” Hayley said crying. Nick shook his head and pulled her into his arms.

        “You didn’t know he was going to die, or have a heart attack,” Nick said.

        “He was angry, and upset because of what I said,” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, your father loved you, you were his little girl, you and Adam were his world, so what if he was mad because you wouldn’t go back to me, you were his daughter, nothing could change that, you and Adam were a part of him, that can’t change,” Nick said.

        “Nick, I want to be with you, I don’t care about the money, my father wanted us together, and I want us together, I love you, I can’t stop loving you, when we were in the hot tub, I felt like I was in heaven, I have missed being in your arms, I was telling the truth when I said I had my soulmate,” Hayley said. Nick kissed her deeply.

        “Yes,” Nick said. He laid her down on the bed and laid on top of her and kissed her deeply.

        “I love you,” Hayley said.

        “I love you, too, let’s get married,” Nick said.

        “Are you sure?” Hayley asked.

        “I waited five years, I am not waiting any longer, I want to be with you forever and always, and we can work on a baby and hopefully have the baby before the deadline so we can have the money and put it back for the kids, and give some to charity,” Nick said.

        “Good idea,” Hayley said. He kissed her and they got up and called everyone and went to the courthouse and got a marriage license and went to the judge and got a waiver and went to the church where everyone was waiting. Adam and Laura hugged Hayley and Nick. Brian, Leighanne, AJ, Howie, and Leigh hugged Hayley. Kevin and Kristin showed up and there were more hugs and they all went in and stood in front of the church with Hayley and Nick as they were married. Nick and Hayley kissed as husband and wife and everyone cheered and hugged them and they all went to Laura’s house for a reception.

Epilogue

Hayley sat there looking at her baby girl, Alexis Marie Carter. Nick came in and sat down and looked at his daughter and smiled.

        “Our little girl, Nick, she’s so beautiful,” Hayley said.

        “Just like her mother, we did it, baby, we made the deadline, the money is ours to do with what we want, we have made your father happy,” Nick said.

        “Yeah, I’m glad, I wish I could go back and apologize to him,” Hayley said.

        “This makes up for it, we are married, we have a child, we are together, forever,” Nick said. Hayley smiled and kissed him.

        “I love you, Nick, so much,” Hayley said.

        “I love you, too,” Nick said. They kissed and watched their daughter and knew they were going to be together forever and never again be apart.
